trust me when i say that i know. i used to repair pcs for people and also cellphones and smart phones as well. i still repair pcs on the side, but i hate cell phones and smart phones and after repairing them for years i hate them 100 times worse now, and that mainly because of the attitude of users. i don't even have one. and see no reason why i need one. plus i rather like making things, hence why i make reclaimed wood furniture. i am looking into building a large cnc router for wood to build custom wood signs and guitars. i also would like to build a small cnc router for metal parts mainly like rearsets for bikes and stuff.

I do leak tests on various storage tanks my company has been contracted to do repairs on... I check every INCH of weld on the floor for pin hole leaks. Usually they are the very large ones you see when driving near a refinery. It's very tedious and requires patience...and a good flash light. Also I test new tanks we've built new or ones we've replaced complete bottom floors to as well. These tanks are all seal welded by hand as well, so imperfections are expected, just gotta find the leaks.

Pretty much. A leasehand (bitch of the rig) starts at 28.50. You do 2 weeks on 1 week off, 12 hours a day. For the first 44 hours of your "stint" you make regular time and the remaining 124 hours it's at double time. Drillers (big cahuna on the rig deck) makes about $40 with the same pay schedule.
I'm planning to try and "see the world" with it, bunch of the drilling companies have sites down in Texas. Maybe do some offshore stuff, go overseas, we'll see where it takes me.

Currently a junior in college as an Electrical engineer. Anyone here also an electrical engineer that can offer any advice? I've been hearing a lot of stories as to there not being any jobs for recent graduates?

Don't be a sell out. Find something in the field you wanted to be in.
If you just simply want a job for an income temprorarily until you find something you like, you can find an EE job anywhere really.

yeah I never used it.
Once I graduated, all the companies wanted 10yrs exp and I was not going to take a $12hr job for being a drafter. ( that is what Mustang Engineering offered me )
Then a few months later I fell into the mortgage world as a broker and OMG I love it. I make more money now than I would of as an Civil Engineer.

Currently a mechanic at an independent repair shop, not what I want to do.
What I want to do is join Naval Special Warfare. The short story is I was disqualified from joining due to medical (having a vp shunt) but was told (by the chief medical officer at BUD/S) if I had the shunt removed he would get me in. I had the shunt removed after signing a waiver of liability since the doctor said there was less than 20% chance of me living a normal life after (permanent brain damage or death was the rest). That was in 2009 and I am perfectly normal. But I can't even get a recruiter to talk to me because they don't want to deal with it. In April I will be over the age limit. There's a lot more details but that is the gist of it.
Basically, I am trying to figure out what to do other than military because that's all I have ever wanted.

I'm currently working for Lowe's as an Assembler. I put together any BBQs, patio furniture, cabinets, etc. the store sells or has on display. Its a super chill job, been doing it for 2 years now. I have my own work area in the back of the store. I can pretty much do everything with my eyes closed now. I even smuggled in my own speakers to listen to music while working.
Currently going to school to get my degree in Aerospace Engineering. When I graduate, I'd love to go into either engine design or aerodynamics.

My friend had something similar and is also got yanked around by recruiters after it was removed. Sadly part of this is due to the downsizing of the military, had you tried to sign up around 10 years ago you might have had more luck.

Just got out of the Marine Corps over a year ago. I currently am a full time student, I work at Detail Maniac - a professional detailing automotive business. I am also in the process of obtaining my real estate license.
I'm a Broadcast Journalist for the Air Force... not sure if I'll transfer this job into the civilian sector or not once I'm out, but it's not a bad gig for the time being. I'd like to go back to school for marketing or graphic design.

Heard that. I was DQ'd because I'm a type 1 diabetic. Out there in real life, I'm a Funeral Director finishing up my apprenticeship in PA. I'm first-generation (no family ties to the biz) and have had a hell of a time trying to break into in. Statistically, of all the applicants that apply to a mortuary school, 30% don't even make it through and after becoming licensed, another 30% will drop out and find another job. I'm happy to say that after hustlin' at all hours of the day, and at age 25, I've made it eight years in the business and am managing to make a living and still have some walk around cash at the end of the day.
It's not glamorous, can put a lot of strain on all of your relationships (fiance left me in July mostly over the hours I pull/lack of home time), and can be downright dangerous, but man, there is no feeling like that of a job well done and knowing that you've helped people through one of the most difficult times in their life.

ER doc once I finish training next June. To those considering med school...think long and hard about why you want to get into it, because paying $50K+ a year for 4 years of being a student after college, and then busting your tail in residency for at least 3 more years can really be demoralizing at times. Once you're in quitting is difficult due to the debt you acrue quickly. But, I'm nearly done training and the pay, hours, and job security are excellent. And its the coolest job in the world. Now to finally throw together than S14 track car I've wanted for like 10 years.

Yeah, nobody wanted to deal with the liability. The doctor that finally did it, made me pay his lawyer to write up a waiver of liability that I had to sign in front of him because of how dangerous this was.
