been working on a cgi shot for a short film, combing live footage with cgi. (tire blowout, and car flips to sum it up) These are basically test renders. realistic lighting has not been implemented. its all still work in progress. any crits are welcome. my 240 was used as reference.

HUGE exhaust!
looks sweet though. finally some zenki development w00t.
Did you buy that model or did you actually model it? If you did it yourself props to you, looks great! I've never used Maya, although I do use 3DSMax and Lightwave.

Beautiful model. The proportions of the car look perfect, and thats the most important thing when modelling. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Nice, I remember my days with softimage. I hated coding. You made me remember the good old days.

i learned 3dsmax with drawing a 98 kouki with splines. it took me 3 months and looked really really good, then my hd died and i lost it all :hammer: :axe: :spank:

doh! that sux Johny5... i know exactly how u feel. WeST: I actually modeled it. I built all the doors and panels seperatly. I'm able to swap out all the body parts with aftermarket parts :) This is actually a low detailed version of wut im going to do with it. I'll get some pics up on here that i used for reference. Trying to find some sideskirts to go with my bomber front.

Very nice work, I like it alot! I also am modelling my car in 3d, using Lightwave, here is a pic of it. It is just a WIP but it is coming together nicely I feel. Your's really looks sharp I can't wait to see the finalized renders. I hope it is not bad form to post a couple of my pics in your thread. If so, let me know and I will remove them

yeah, i'll be majoring in Computer Graphics and Animation. 3DStudioMax is awesome, great for beginners and pros. Maya is really for like hella skilled people. XSI aswell, but i want to learn it because of Half-Life2 uses it.

I guess u can say 3d modeling/animation is my life.. other than my car. Been using maya for about 3 years now. I have been working with 3DBuzz.com to provide FREE video training for people interested in 3D art/animation and game development. we also send cds filled with video tutorials to ur house for free! I also helped with the production of the video training that came with the Unreal Tournament 2004 DVD edition. bah enough ranting.. i guess many of you guys like this kinda stuff.. i supposed i'll work on the highly detailed model then.

Wow looks awesome, I am going to school for 3D animation, and video game design. I have used 3D Studio Max, and a few others, never Maya. I think you did an excellent job on it, how much time do you have invested? Just curious.

this is about a weeks worth of work... had i very very tight deadline for the rough animation. trying to get it ready for the kentuky film festival. Also, this is just the low detail version. I'm working on a really high detailed model at the moment. I have been working on a unannounced PC game title while I have been working on this. I'm shooting to post some shots in a few weeks. was looking for some crits when i posted. :-)
brianglawson: Thanks for the crit... I have noticed that as well.
the headlights are a little bit too thin heightwise...if it's not too hard i recommend maybe rounding them off a little

That looks sweet, is that 3d studio?
I made an animation of a mustang getting demolished by a semi, it was funny.
