I just started working for an auto parts store and I can get a HUGE discount on all parts. I'm in the process of piecing together my turbo kit for my KA and I am now looking for an exhaust to compliment the turbo. I'm trying to choose between the APEX N1 or GT. I know there is quite a difference between these two exhausts, but I'm leaning more toward the GT due to its stainless steel construction...

If anyone wants to give their imput to sway me one way or the other, or make me feel more confident in the GT, that would be great!

oh yeah...I know the GT spec is a friggin' HUGE exhaust. Will it make my car sound like a huge fart or does it have a nice rumble to it?

unless you need 4 inch piping (99.99998% of people dont) then just get the n1. hell, just go on ebay and get the megan racing one, it costs half as much and its the same thing.

The new N1 evolution is stainless, that's the one I bought for my SR

I'd personally get the GT spec since the price difference is mininal and the GT comes much larger piping and both exhaust arent exactly on my list of quiet exhaust.

the GT spec megaphones out from 3 inch to 4 inch. its not 4 inch all the way. and yes it has its advantages. more for big turbo high HP applications. otherwise stick with the N1

the man's got a point ^^

ANyway, turbo KA's whoop ass, but you have to know WHAT your looking for in exhaust before you konw WHICH one to buy. factors include Quietness, flow, material, and quality. If your just going with apex b/c of the name, then WTF thats lame. Personally i wanted extremely quiet exhaust and plan on going KAT eventually so i got 2 45 degree 3" mandrel bends, a 2" CATCO hi-flow cat, and 2 3" turbo mufflers from summit.

Total it cost me $230 installed for 3" mandrel bent header-back exhaust that is EXTREMELY quiet. Its so quiet my parents cant hear me leave at midnight when my car's in the garage next to their room. But thats just what i wanted, to each their own, but all im sayin is dont just go w/ apex b/c of the name before you know what you want out of an exhaust system.

My brother has the gt spec and to me its not all that loud with his rb25. Its also one piece so less chance of leaks.

GT spec all the way. bigger=better and :fawk: all the naysayers!

Trust me...i'm not buying the Apex because of the name. I'm buying it because I can get it 40% off through my employer, lol. If I could get any exhaust, it would most def be the Blitz Nur Spec R...that exhaust is sooooo hot!!!

Oh yeah...I would go with the newer stainless steel N1, but I can't get it through my work. I'm also not too concerned with the volume of the exhaust, but rather the quality of the exhaust note. But all in all, I think the GT spec would be best...better quality imo.

I have yet to hear any comments on the exhaust note (not the volume) could someone help me out?

sounds good. D240t has one on his KAT good deep sound. very nice. of course its hard to be 100% sure since there were like 3 other 240s around us all with different exhasts ;)

I just picked up the new all stainless N1, its going on this weekend. From staring at it the past 5 days, i can tell you the quality is very high, awesome welds and one piece design makes a ton of sense.

I like the RS-R GT2, but I'd rather get the megan racing one for $150 less.

Apex GT Spec. It's quiet. Not even loud compared to some of the crap out there. Megan Racing exhausts don't even run a resonator last time I looked.

I was thinking "hey I don't run a resonator either..." but then again,my car is loud at just idle, lets not talk about anything above that:)

Its one of the loudest japanese exhaust i've heard. Compared to the HKS hiper and Blitz nurspec the apex gt spec is louder.
