i know a lot of people on this forum use a +22 offset with 17x9.5
but i called 5 zigen today and they told me that i should be using a
+38 for the rear is that too high or can i use the +22 because i seen some cars on this forum and they say it fits perfect without pulling fenders

reason they say +38 is so they wont take any liability for fitment issues...
if u go lower, u will have to MAKE it fit, i.e. roll fenders, stretch tires, negative camber, etc...

just go ahead and get the +22...iirc all you would need is roll fenders (not necessarily pull), and neg camber. you'll be good. make you sure you get the right tire size too.

do +22 9.5 in front +12, 10 width in back, yum, and pull the rears

Want to make a bet on that?
You MUST pull the rear fenders with a 9.5" +22 offset. MUST. And you would be forced to run a 235-sized tire on it...
And at least 3 degrees of rear negative camber.

But keep in mind Mav WORKS FOR 5Zigen... he knows intimately what it takes to make their wheels fit the S chassis

mav i respect your opinion, but i take it youre not talking from experience (now knowing that you work for 5zigen) but heartwork (on this forum) had that size and offset with 235's and no pulled fenders from what i recall. how ever with that much of a risk, why not pull em a bit.
ehhh?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOk thank you for assuming that 1) I am not speaking from experience, and 2) I have no experience because I work at 5Zigen.
I speak from PERSONAL experience. In fact, how about I've already fitted wheels onto a car?
Or was that car some figment of my imagination and I don't know jack?

I think the problem here is
PEOPLE NEED TO SPECIFY S13 OR S14
Mav is definitely correct for an S13. S14 has some more room (Heartwork has S14)

Thank you for at least telling me what car Heartwork has... I can't go off information I don't have, I don't know who has what car!
But I still stand by what I said because not everyone wishes to run a "extreme" setup.
I should also note that different tires have different sidewalls, and that also affects fitment....... there's so many variables that it is difficult to say what 100% fits and what doesn't. I'd rather tell you that +38 fits with the least amount of work versus +22 fits but you would have to do more to make it fit.
