hey guys.. im still trying to fix this bugger.. not only do i see powerloss throughout my rpm range, but shitty idle. yea, i know S13 have bad idle, and yea, ive tried it all. did entire tune up, checked all the lines, replaced my O2 sensor, coolant temperature sensor, MAF checked, IAV through and through.. what else could be causing my powerloss and idle of 100-500 rpm??!?!?!? my check engine light isnt lit, everything looks sound, no leaks of any sort.. ive hit a wall here.. im desperate for some expert advice. although i have powerloss, occasionally my S13 DOHC holds through and has power. im gonna run an ECM check today.. but i doubt it will yield anything.. any ideas?

its not injectors :*( check engine light isn't on, im so stumped by this and i cant afford a mechanic.. im screwed.. MAFS maybe? :*( but what can both cause a terrible idle (100-500rpm) AND bad fuel economy(10 mpg)?!

a slipping clutch wouldn't cause a bad idle. check your hoses since you didn't mention them. a kinked fuel hose will cause bogging during fits of acceleration. also if its a very old hose it'll be leaking. hmm but u said no leaks, right? check the hoses by the intake too... make sure the clamps are on there nice and tight. the holes can be very hard to see unless you take off the hose and bend it around a little. i believe mechanics wipe on some oil or water and if bubbles come out u have a leak. finally, check your engine grounds. i've heard a loose/rusted/whatever engine ground can make the car run very erratically and throw all sorts of random ECU codes.

i just replaced my spark plugs and wires.. $100, jesus.. ive got some of the power back, turns out one of the spark plugs blew today. maybe the previous owner didnt do a tune up as he said he did...still semi erratic idle, 500-700RPM

check fuel filter
make sure gap on plugs is what you need (.35mm for SRs)
Clean MAFS with carborater cleaner -DONT DO WHEN ITS HOT
coilpacks might be fuckt

get acces to a timing gun and check your timing

let me know if anything i said helped

Got the same problem as you - plus the god damn Timing Chain rattle, and the best part about it? I'm unemployed so i have no money to get the pos looked over and fixed :(

Have you run the ecu diagnostic yet? http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/hesitate2.html
