View Full Version : Need Advice- removing paint from tires

Okay, I buy BARELY used tires from this place in Tampa for cheap...I didn't notice til i got home, but one of the tires has gold spray paint from someone painting their rims gold........I have scrubbed trying to get it off, anyone have and suggestions??

3m adhesive remover should work if you scrub hard enough and shouldnt hurt the rubber just be sure to wash it off good.If that doesnt work you could just use paint thinner but i dunno what that would do to the rubber

I think your SOL cuz any kinda chemical can potentially damage the rubber and make it unsafe, are the inside/outside tires or directionals. cuz you could just mount the paint on the inside if they are directional.

get some black rubber spray and spray it over? lol.

They are directional, and that is the only tire wall that has the paint, so i might just take it back to them, and see if they could switch them around...
I wanted a quick fix, but if its just gonna f- up the tires, I'll switch them around..... :bash:
