I'm all about the west coast, bay area peeps like E40, JT the bigga figga, Mac Mall, TWDY, and socal folks like Snoop (the old Snoop) and the Eastsidaz, 2pac and DJ Quik. But I also listen to East coast rap, I consider Biggie to be one of the greatest MCs. I also listen to R&B hip hop like Next, 112, Ginuwine, like that.

I'm just tired of listening to bullshit rappers talk about how much money they got, how many hoes they got, and what car they drive. I swear, most rappers these days can't do a song without mentioning a car, money, jewelry, or....CRISTAL. ARGH. I don't hate the rappers themselves, but I just don't like some of the music out there. A lot of stuff sounds alike as well. There's only a handful that actually has a distinct style or sound.

ok, hello everyone, I am just the only one or are all those songs that u gys picked just crappy as ####?
I mean, kid zelda, i remember u picking on me in another chat topic when I said that Dmx was hot and u disagreed but what the #### is wrong with u putting pennywise up there when those faggots play wack ass rock? (the main topic is HIP HOP, read first. Now, moving along, if u want some nice hip hop, something nice to listen to, who gives a shit if people call it hip hop, hip pop, what the #### is the big deal? I listen to things that make me feel good and make me wanna drive fast. I can agree that many songs out there are commercial but thats why they r on tv and radio, they r commercial fool, if u cop the actual cd u can hear that ever so important hardcore rap that all of u crave so much. I mean, I DL some of the songs u guys posted and they just suck. Jurassic 5-school yard....that just sucked ass. pennywise-that sucked too much balls and was not even rap. Binary star-reality check...that shi% sounded like techno type of rap and then when the words kicked in which this guy sounds so bland and boring. And to top that, he raps just like the rest, like vanilla ice, very predictable rythming. Its like these so called "hard core" rappers try so hard to be underground that they all sound the same and mad boring. I recommend having fabulous, if ya guys claim to be true hip hop fans, then why not get fabulous, dmx, wu tang, shit like that. Im a reasonable guy, I hate p. diddy, will smith, shi% like that but come on guys, who really cares if u bump hip hop, hip pop, whatever, just get something u like, dont get something just to be "down" ####, i guess maybe when some of u get older ya will get wiser. coming from a guy out of NY, and trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

DooD, I listen to all different kinds of music. "Underground hip-hop" if u have to label it...is what I listen to the most.

its like this, there's a music for every mood.
DMX is crap, sorry.......but thats the way I feel.

It's not all bad rap..........I just don't feel it...there I said it.

I know what ur trying to say though.......and I wasn't try to pick on you in the other topic.

speed. I understand that most underground is not good to bumb thats why I mad this post to find which artist that I can listen too without saying bitch fuck 20 40oz blunt in everyother sentence. I accept some mainstream artist that say more than that: kurupt 2pac likz daz dj quik and others that dont sell out or just to tell you the truth act too hard if they aint. So what if your from NY dosent mean that you know anything about Rap. just cause you were "Born in NY" you have some automatic rap genes. Very interesting. Bump what you like and I will bump what I like. We on here arent trying to start anything we just like our music with a little more meaning. I can admitt that most underground artist have poor skills thats why they are underground but some have real talent and have enough influence to get a little money get mature beats and make better music. I dont know where im going with this but enjoy your "DMX" I know it does pump you up #### It pumps me up too, but its even better when you find a song with meaning that pumps you up or even just listen to some trance. Peace

Dear 240sxspeedracer1,
the songs they posted are hella phat dawg!!! I dunno what ur smoking dissing some of the lyrical skill that some of these emcees posses. Saying that the music that these people posted was whack who gives u the right to do that. Just cuz they are underground doesnt mean that they suk. These mainstream emcees talk about dumb stuff that contain no value. Big, and tupac are just a few of the many mainstream artist that use words like bitch,hoe,gun,40 and blastin these niggaz to sell cds. And look what it has brought them two are dead (not to give any disrespect). But hey if thats what ur in too then thats what ur into. But dont start critizing all of the other peoples music...

i didnt even mean to offend anybody and when I said i come form Ny, im just saying that it is like everybody out here listens to rap basically. It's not like alabama and shit where people listen to rock and country. I'll be honest, in NY the majority is the minority if u get my drift and I myself being a minority(hispanic) i listen to my spanish music when it is time to relax or to drive normally, but u are talking about some hot azz music to race with. Now, this whole forum stuff is to express opinions and thats what i did. I personally hate all that underground garbage becuase if these guys were so hot they wouldnt be underground, they would be mainstream so that the average joe can buy the #### thing and so they can be in cd shops and have record labels and shit like that. Why the #### are u gonna work so hard rapping just to stay known to only a few percentage out of this mass market of buyers? That means only one thing, these guys are stupid as ####, or just plain suck. (i think the latter applies) Anyway, I don't want to pick fights, I am a good boy with a nice 240sx and am just expressing my opinion. And I will rock my DMX with pride.

Speed, When did I say race? Quote me. Just for your info Awol has almost 200000 thousands sales on Amazon .com from buys from his cd. Not to mention he does most of his work and see's 11$ at least. 11X200000 you do the math he does what he wants and have no record interferance at all. While your DMX sells 500000X the whold 2.00 he gets. Still more money than ill ever had but my dignity is worth more. And loyal fans that dont drop him after he dosent relase a remix. FYI DMX being so real as he is takes interview lessons and such, Your Rap stars are as fake as pro wrestlers that just have a big act. There business men that do not live in the ghetto and where talent lacks the fill with "negitive dialect". Your just a person who gawks at "bad words" and are amazed good for you.

First of all, why in the #### would u bump music in ur car "to get hype"? Why in the #### would I put some music to hype me up when I have my family in the car driving to my grandmother's house? Now, when u say something, ur going to have to accept that people will interpret it in the most common sense form of way. Now if u meant that u wanna blast ur shit to get "hype" while driving to ur grandmother's house, well thats ur sick and twisted reasoning but I guess maybe I tried to read too much into ur sentences, I guess u aren't that deep. Anyway, the whole thing about Awol, I never personally heard them, read about them, saw them ever. Now, I guess Awol hasn't gone into higher learning but if I wanna maximize profit I'd rather market my shit to the public. I guarantee u if i asked all my friends if they heard of them they'd say #### no! Just by hearing the name they just sound like they suck ass. Prob. some fake ass rapers. Now, another point I want to mention is ur precious lil underground rappers. Now, if u happen to have any of jay-z or any "QUALITY" songs or artists, put that shi% on real quick. Forget about curses cause I know ur too young to hear curses, it's too offensive for u, I know it scares u but try it real quick. Listen to the frickin lyrics, these r professionals, I don't care what anybody says. Now, I'm gonna listen to Binary Star-reality check and resite to u the first line of his wack shi% and u tell me how these fags are telling u anything of importance...."when u hear this, that is the introduction.....Yo, this is how I represent, i rock the mic 110 percent its intimate i keep the party open like an immigrant. binary star, superstar its no coincedence" Come on, this shi% is f...ing garbage. U r telling me this is the kind of garbage u listen to? hahahaha oh my god, living out there in probably alabama and shi% got u twisted up. this guy is talking about crap and I heard a couple curses in this song, OMG curses, I know ur scared of that, it makes u nervous, u and ur lil sis and mommy going to ur grandma's house. I know u want to get hype but binary star curses too much, what are they gonna think? I guess u have to switch to the all country station, so much for getting hyped up. One last point, be honest, would u rather be DMX or awol? F all that crap u saying about dignity, cause what dignity has DMX lost? I can't recall seeing him in an interview so what are u talking about? I'd rather be known through out the world than to a few guys up in Alabama. Don't lie to urself, u'll just compound the whole situation, keep it real homey, u hardcore boy. U can beat anybody up cant ya? U r so cool listening to these underground rappers that nobody heard of that sound like complete garbage, I wanna be u when I grow up.

too much detail for such a silly topic.. its music, everyone has their preferences.

I may not like what Dr Zelda likes, but its his style.. cant knock it. As for comin' from NY, dont try to come off like that.. because its not even about that -- its about what YOU LIKE.

Personally, I think the whole concept of "driving music" is lame because when you want to drive, the stereo goes off and there is only 1 song playing.. and thats my engine riding at 6500rpms and my tires following in bliss..

But put that all aside and I manage to squeeze in quite a lot of 2pac, warren-g, nate dogg, reflection eternal, common, mos def, wu-tang, too$hort, gang starr, BIG, LL, and plenty of DJ Quik.

DMX? Please.. he was just a temporary stepping stone for people to walk on while debating wether or not 2pac was alive. I mean, i have some songs by him.. but his music isnt prolific.. its just temporary. I'll listen to Kool Moe Dee over DMX any day.

- DJ Magic Mike

ps: Jay-Z is okay, his new album is better than his old stuff.. but I like the 1st album too.

Well, some of the music I let Mike hear...is a little toooooo OUT THERE for him.......but I can dig some of the stuff he is likes. And I agree that DMX was just a steeping stone.

BTW, I hope you didn't want the Jazz CD your friend gave me! I' digging it big time.

Music is a big part of my life, there is so much good stuff, try not to limit yourself.

From the Shapes, to Prince, Depeche Mood, Bob Marley, 9inch nails, Portishead, Del...and some smooth R&B for when the ladies are around...hehe
