Here at Force, we do a lot of head builds. We have years of experience with port work!

We do all our 3-angle valve jobs on a real seat & guide machine, no sketchy stones here! We level each and every valve seat to make sure we have a perfect cut every time. We use a 3D cutter that we've found through personal and flow bench testing to work extremely well for four valve heads.

Our heads are proven on our own record-setting drag cars! There's no hogged out runners and mirror polish here! We measure valve and throat diameter to determine proper port volume, and cut the throats out to match 1mm over valves (if used).

(This is a 3200hp blown alcohol head ;))

Can you lap the head? Do you have profilometer or surface roughness tester?

Do you mean the valves or the entire head surface? Lapping is not needed on the valves with our machining. We do deck the heads, it is included with the head rebuild.

We don't have a profilometer, we have tested our port designs and surface finish on our 4WD Mustang dyno :rawk:.

If you're worried about the surface finish of the deck surface, we don't have any issues sealing metal headgaskets with our deck surface.

Machinist don't test their port design and surface finish on dyno. I mean lapping the head surface to eliminate the peak and valley from the surfacer.

Where do they test them then? The flow bench? Flow bench numbers don't make power, and while it's a good tool to get a rough guesstimate of your increase in flow, it'll never accurately simulate a running engine. There are things that make the flow bench numbers go up, and the power go down.

No we don't lap the head, we've never had an issue with headgasket sealing at all. No need to fix what isn't broken.
