First off, what is it worth? 200? 300?
And I believe all J30 diffs are VLSD's with abs right?
And that a stock 240sx non-abs driftshaft will fit it right?
Will a custom made one piece DS made for the J30 diff fit a non-J30 diff?

1.) FREE.99. Why? Because they're old. Sealed units wear down over time. Unless you can prove it still locks up well then maybe $100. Or you could sell it with new shims.
2.) They came with ABS sensors

What VLSD is worth $200-$300??? VLSD's just aren't worth that much... J30 diffs are only worth about $100. They have a taller 3.9 rear end ratio, which makes them less desirable. You can use the S13 driveshaft on the J30 diff, but you need 5-bolt axles. You can even use a non-abs driveshaft on an abs diff and vise-versa. You're pretty damn lost on this dude...

you need 5-bolt axles.
There's one particular early-mid 90s set that uses the stock s13 axles. If i can find the link that lists which one it is I'll post it but I used to run a j30 diff in my car and used the stock driveshaft and axles. The only thing is you need to switch the rear cover from the stock s13 diff to the j30 pumpkin
Edit: Found it. Its the 95-96 J30 fits with no modification other than swapping rear covers with your stock diff and needing slightly longer bolts/washers and possibly new bushings if yours don't come with them

I know that some of them used 6-bolt axles, but you don't see them that much. Yes, you do need to swap the cover as well.

I know, someone found random nissan washers that they could jam in their diff. I'm pretty sure it works by making the gears bind, has little to do with being a VLSD.

To answer your question about a J30 drive shaft it is a nissan r200 diff so as long as it is a driveshaft made for a 240 it does not matter what diff it is. You should match abs/non abs diffs with the respective driveshaft or you may encounter issues with lengths but it is pretty random on what cars can and cannot mismatch driveshafts.
