I've done all the reading I can handle...I need opinions now.

These are the 3 tires I'm looking at for my next set:
Kumho Ecsta MX
Dunlop SP Sport FM901
Yokohama AVS ES100

2 tires you may mention that I don't want:
Falken Azenis
Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
712's are too hard and azenis are too soft.

Daily driver, limited track/auto-x use...what do you think I should get?
$90/tire is the most I'll spend, 205/55/16

Oh, and if anybody can comment on the treadwear of those 3 vs 712's & azenis that'd rock.

TIA!

What about RE750s? 340 treadwear, but perform very well. They have $50 off right now if you buy 4 tires, which puts them at $97.50 a tire at tirerack, which is close to your pricerange. Considering they should last a lot longer than FM901 or MX, and grip better than the ES100, it might be worth exceeding your price cap by a small ammount.

i have es100's on my car and they've been on for about 6-7 months. i've got nothing bad to say about them. i've used them in about 5 autox's and 1 road course event and they're still fine. but i can't really compare to fm901's or mx's cuz i've never tried them. i have friends who love the mx's and they've been autoxing on them for about a year, so they should last too.

Ive currently got ES100's on my car and autocross / street them. They hold up very well and grip 90% of what the Azenis did for me at autocross.

FM901 have too soft sidewalls... go with one of the other 2 choices.

They wear too fast and get sort of greasy when hot... They are good tires for sure, but I prefer the ES100's having driven on both. Have heard only good things about the Ecsta MX's.

I'm with Duffman. If you can get RE750 for a good deal, that would be my choice.

azenis are too soft.
And yeah, that greasy feeling is pretty disconcerting. That and I've been through 2 sets now, I want to try something that'll make it a whole 12 months or more :jerkit:

I'm leaning towards the MX I think, but I'm afraid they'll wear away just as quick as the azenis. The re750's are just too much $, I'm only buying 2 right now; the other 2 azenis still have a little life left.

Thanks for the input so far :bigok:
