I'm in the middle of doing my 5 lug swap. Of course the first one I try I run into a problem. The front passenger hub came off fine but when I pulled it off, the back half of the bearing stayed on the spindle. I have no idea how to get this off. I cleaned all the grease off, torched it and tried to spin it off and its not moving at all.

Here's some pics of the greatness. Please let me know if anyone has any advice or am I just going to have to get a new spindle? Thanks

That's the inner bearing race and this happen because it seize. Use a grinder and grind it down the inner race but don't grind to much becaus you don't want to damage the hub. You grind the innger race until you weaken it and it should slide right off. You will have to get a new wheel bearing but need to press the old one out and press new one in.

If you can, try grinding a slot about 1/2" - 3/4" of the races thickness deep, and then apply heat. Heating it after you've already slotted it should allow it to expand more than enough to slide right off, and if you're lucky it might just split as heat is applied.

If that doesn't work, you can buy/rent/borrow/etc a gear puller from somewhere and use that to pull the race off. If the fingers of the puller don't have anything to grab onto, you might need to cut some slots into the race, but it should be pretty straightforward.

Had this same issue when replacing my front bearings, as said above, heat it up and try to grind a slot in it, it will come. Good luck!

I got it out about a 1/4". Now it'll spin a bit when I heat it but wont come out anymore. I'm heading to the store to pick up a gear puller. Looks like it should come out with that

I take that back. I got it off prying it with a wrench. It's not looking too good where the inner race was. Anything special I should put on there or just clean it up and throw some axle grease on? Thanks for the input btw
