Hey guys, i just spent the whole day trying to find a answer to my case and found a lot of mixed opinions, so i need some help please.

So i drove 11 hours alone to buy a used Kaaz 2 Way Lsd for my s14.
It came with a open diff non abs pumpkin with the output shafts.

I have the VLSD with ABS pumpkin in my car so the question is:

Can i swap all the parts from inside the open diff pumpkin into the VLSD pumpkin? So with that i wouldn't need to buy another driveshaft?

Thanks!

^^ what about the input shaft? The non abs is shorter than the one with abs right?

did u try checking kaaz's website for part #'s? See if it shows different #'s for abs and non-abs? lsd and non-lsd? and wth does rb25 has to do with it?

Yes, already did.. They make two lsd's , one for open diff and one for vlsd

They have different part numbers because they specify ABS or Non ABS when you buy them so you can use whatever output shafts that are already in your car. As for the input shaft it is shorter on Non ABS so you must swap drive shafts if you want to use it.

That what i was afraid, i will have to shorten my drift shaft if i wanna use them. :/ what happen if i disconnect the abs sensor from the pumpkin?
Thanks bro!

No you will need to lengthen it if you want to put in an open diff/non abs pumpkin as it is shorter than a ABS pumpkin. Also do you have ABS in the car? If so you will cause the ABS light to stay on and the ABS system to not function correctly.

I dont know if my abs still works because of the rb25 swap, i will test it tomorrow, ill unplug the abs sensor to see if the abs light goes on.

In case i still have the abs system is it a big deal to have abs?

Depends on how you drive the car. If you drift it is only going to get in the way, if you roadrace you might like it more. I just did some reading and you should revert over to standard braking if the sensor is pulled. Though someone with real experience might need to chime in and say if that is true or not.

Okay so basically you are saying that if i swap all the internal parts with output shafts included from a open diff to a abs diff will not work right? Even if i use the open diff output shafts? So the only way is to lengthen my drive shaft and use the open pumpkin as it is?

Sorry if it came off that way you should be able to swap the diff(center section) over to the ABS housing. You want to switch the ring gears out so you are using the one that came with the pumpkin you are using.

All you should need to do it swap the kaaz unit into your vlsd housing and use the open diff output shafts because they will have the correct spline count.
