Hi my name is Serghei born and raised in Russian and then moved to Canada, but enough about me. It all started off with my first car.. well an s13 loved it ! and ever sins i been going back and forth with s13's and well.. pretty much anything jdm but you know what they say about s13's, you cant live with them and cant live without them lol. so instead of bouncing around different 240's i settled on finding a clean one and start a build.

here is what i found

Biggest update as of yet. Picked up my engine/drive train. 92 GTR. runs and drive nicely. launches like a beast ! never really driven a GTR but dam does it ever slap you back in the seat from 0-60. will be pulling the engine as soon as i get some space !

Now i know what your all are thinking, :spank: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ! why would you rip apart a good running GTR to use the engine for the 240sx. Why not just slap a big single, cams, injectors in the GTR and call it a day... well at the end it will be just another fast GTR. We have alot of them in the city. nothing special but an AWD rb26 240 is a different story. And instead of me hunting for every part i need its easier to just get the hole car.

also picked up these units

What's with everybody trying to be "different"...?

Gutting up a R-Chassis to build a S-Chassis? The reason why you don't see too many people doing that is because it's silly and just plain stupid.

Now if it was a R33 (lol), I'd understand but a 32 is such a great car. Anywho, since you care so much to be "different", why not keep both cars and build both? Go with the Zilvia Kouki 180SX starter pack and build a street R32 or vice versa. No Zilvia/Internet dweeb in Canada or in North America has got the best of both worlds and you'll definitely get more penises and win internet fame.

KiLLeR2001
09-15-2013, 05:34 PM
Unless that R32 is rusted the fuck out, I would advise against gutting it out and ultimately turning it into a parts car. Build both.

Looks like the r32 came with apexi fc, want to sell it since you have the haltech? lol

09-15-2013, 05:52 PM
Yeah, this seems pointless. You have access to GT-Rs. Just drive a GT-R. If you were in the U.S. I would say go for it, but tearing apart a perfectly fine R32 to swap everything into a 240.....not my car, but definitely not what I would do.

It's also MUCH harder to get RHD insurance now in Ontario (Canada). I can attest to that with my 180, fortunately/unfortunately I kept it insured the entire 2 years I was building it on a fire and theft policy.

It was the only way for me to guarantee I was going to be able to drive it legally on the road...insurance wise anyways.

So his plan for using the RB drivetrain in the 240 MAY be caused by the ever so lowering right hand drive vehicles in our country...but who knows. I don't know the guy.

loving the comments ! its hard for you guys to understand sins as far as i know its hard to get a GTR in US, not the same in Canada (at least where im at). I don't like RHD i have owned lots of them, its not my thing. i like s13's more then GTRs there harder to find clean here. Insurance is the same price RHD vs LHD.

I am not doing this just because i want to be different, im doing it because its what i wanted to do. its funny how rb26 swaps in an s13 is fine yet this is not.

not ruining anything here. im not cutting up the shell. the GTR will still live after this. the shell will go to my buddy witch he will bring it back to life.

and to make some of you even more mad hehe the GTR only has 58k kms, perfect compression, N1 goodies with coilovers and lots of other fun stuff.

stay tuned for updates

Alberta rates are not nearly what they are here. Insuring a RHD between Hamilton-Oshawa-Barrie is 3x higher than anywhere in the country, as you know. Sadly, I have friends that have had full coverage on RHDs under their own name for less than $1800 a year, since 17 years old.

like_em_sidewayzz

why not floor mounted pedals. never tried them so i figures this is as good of a time as any lol it also cleans up the bay. and street with a little AWD track drifting time to time. 500AWHP should get all 4 tires cooking :coold:

nice build very interesting ... many attempt not much succeed
us guy in fl have a very hard time licensing 99.9 rhd cars .. if you do it the cheap illegal way it may back fire depending on the cop that pulls you over .. if you do it the right way it may cost more than actually buying the car itself
idk i never own my . my cousin has but the illegal way . he doesnt have them anymore for certain reasons ..

if this build way a fl guy doing this i will extremely understand
but i would part out a hell of a car i would piece together

ps: sell me the sell .. im looking for a new trailer queen

why pull the rear subframe ? doesn't the GTR subframe have HICAS ?
if it does, and your car doesn't have it, I would just swap the diff/axles/5lug and brakes to your subframe and ditch the Hicas lol

As far as i know the GTR sub frame is a bit thicker and stronger with more reinforced areas. i haven't looked into it but people wouldn't be swapping just the sub frames in there s13 for a GTR one if they were the same is my guess. and Hicas is fairly easy to remove. thanks

You need the rear subframe to run the bigger R230 rear end and bigger axle/spline/hubs.

Front end is where its gonna be interesting and where you'd need to take lots of pictures since its not gonna be a bolt on affair. From what Geoff said when FullRace did their AWD conversion on their S14, you'd pretty much have to re-engineer the front end/suspension to keep the AWD aspect of it. Then you still have to figure out how to get the Attessa to work without it fritzing out.

this is dope!
Once this car is running & if you can get it reliable, gonna be a hard car to beat.
ive seen this swap in an s14, that car was faster than evo's. I think its the one thats mentioned on the previous page

thanks for the info ! and i am one step ahead ! the Attessa should work without a hick up as the hole GTR wiring system is going into the 240. every sensor, computer and wire will be OEM so shouldn't have a problem there. only problem is i hear the Haltech sport 2000 doesn't like the AWD too much and not as many functions.

as for the arm/suspension design, i have a local buddy that is a GTR/240sx guru. owned his own shop and he brought a few good ideas to the table. i would tell you but then i would have to kill you... JK :naughty:but ill be showing the hole proses as the build goes by. thanks

That is about as good looking a skyline can be, without her body.

This should be a very interesting project.

Keep up the good work!!

Education is key my friend. I am not Canadian, just live here. Its stupid to blame a country for something that i did. i understand you guys dont get GTRs, here a gtr is another JDM car. its my opinion on what i want to do with it. nobody made you check out my thread. you dont like it, dont waist your time with it. what your saying is every person that buys a front clip is a skyline killer ? and dont say they been crashed sins i have seen a end less amount of mint gtrs/skylines get chopped up for parts. its a skyline not a lambo. if you knew the story you would do the same thing. thanks for checking out my build

Then a week later these puppy's came in to my life. Mmm Nascar AP Racing 6 piston brakes. I never really thought i would own anything over 4 piston, yet alone AP racing. these should stop a train lol, they are designed to stop a nascar going 200 MPH. and can take alot of abuse/heat

I know a guy that has an *AWD S13* with a Silvia Front end (if that matters). He basically aligned (which he told me it took 10-15hrs alone) and welded the Half cut of the R32 onto the 240sx. He also is using an R32 Dash (RHD)/Center console. that's one way to make the AWD work with an S13 that I know of. I don't know the full details of how it lines up but its most likely one hell of a job...

Ill see if i have some and post up if i find them. Its been at leadlst 5+years since i saw it. But everytime i ask him on progress, hes always busy working on other peoples cars. I highly doubt hes posted it online anywhere. I know i never took any of the bottom of it or what points/braced or welded it together. Just of the bay and some of the interior parts.

Now i know what your all are thinking, :spank: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ! why would you rip apart a good running GTR to use the engine for the 240sx.
You are my god damn hero.
