Putting on my new clutch. Got ARP pressure plate bolts, torquing them to OEM 30lbs ("25-33lbs") isn't getting me anywhere near the flywheel:

I've got the clutch disk faced so this side is towards the pressure plate:

Am I doing something wrong here? Maybe the ARP bolts are too long? This is for a 300zx TT transmission.

Compare the length to the OEM bolts. Most likely they are too long and you're bottoming out on the flywheel.

I don't have any, this is for my VH45 swap. I just ordered the ARP ones to start with. I guess I could try grinding one down and seeing how that works?

You need to measure. See how deep the hole goes on the flywheel, factor in the thickness of the pressure plate and make sure the length of the bolt doesn't exceed the sum of both of those values, otherwise you can go to the Nissan dealership and order the OEM bolts for the pressure plate.
