ka24e piston in a ka24de

hey there i been look around online and seen that ppl have been putting in ka24e pistons into a ka24de because they are getting higher compression. i want to know are they a direct replacement or will i have to make some modifications. also with the 89 ka24e pistons you will get 11.6:1 vs 90 and up that give 11.0:1. can anyone comfirm that?
