That's real nice....well yeah except for the blinker...that parts totally screwed up.

Thanks for the kind words. Heh, yeah I know the blinker is messed, it's partly from a reflection in the photo and partly because she's not real big on cars ;). I'll convince her to fix it this summer.

And sorry, but heh I don't really see how that baseball one reminds you of the santa claus. She whipped that baseball one out in no time flat as a donation. (Hence the lack of detail).

Again, thanks for the kind words!

she can always touch up that left one, just make the airdam smaller.

and change the "dodge avenger" turn signals to some clearcorners.com (tm) 89-90 S13 split signals. ;)

Hey man, I'm an art sudent myself, and I must applaud your girl. She's got a lot of talent, is she a painting major?

*edit* Nevermind...I read her biography...and she's only 16 :eek3: WOW. Simply amazing! I could never dream of producing art like that at that age! (heh...she would show me up now :Owned: = me)

Heh yeah we're still in high school. She's going to apply to Boston and Chicago art schools (I forget the specific names) to major in Fine Arts. Even now she's getting jobs where people will pay her like $800 for a painting....I'm soooo jealous!!

Nice-I aint hating(yet) but, did she?
1. trace the picture, then paint it in?
2. use the picture as a guide, but do it all freehand?
3. look at the car in person?
4. go off memory

and those are in order of easiest to do/most likely to be the case

BiluMaster K's...as I said before, I am an art student and everthing you listed (except for #1) is an acceptable way to create art. In fact, i don't know of many artist who use your #4 technique. Every great painter uses some sort of model or refference whether it be a photograph or sketches made from the actual object. So, mang, don't hate...she's da bomb! ;)

aite playa, i'm feelin it. I asked that because I illustrate cars and noticed that the perpective and line placemnet was perfect. Many well-established artist take photos and paint them in their particular style and get paid. I do it the hard way, but it dont come out that perfect

If she did it from memory, i was gonna begin to worship her, but she still gets her props man...

I printed out a picture of it for her, and she painted it by looking at that. No tracing. I believe she mapped it all out in pencil before starting. The actual painting is acrylics on canvas....and hanging right above my computer :)
