My car [90 S13] was at the transmission place last night getting fixed and he left me message and he didn't sound too happy. Someone came inside his parking area I suppose and stole about 5 CD players from cars. I haven't been down there yet to see what was stolen but i'm sure they got my watch and most of my cd's. that was pretty much everything I had. I doubt they took my new speakers that I paid for but the CD player and the watch were Christmas presents. I should have known to take the watch out but the band on it was broken and I just kept it in there because every chance I had to get it fixed I never had it with me. I thought he kept everything locked up but evidently he either left my door unlocked and they busted out my window...i doubt they busted my window but i'm still pretty pissed.
The place is in Trinity North Carolina and I doubt any of you live around here, but if you do and you hear something let me now as soon as possible. I've learned quite a lesson.

shops are required to have insurance by law. report everything missing. Tell him to take it off your bill or you will file a claim against him.

yep, he runs a business so he assumes the liability..
there is a chapter about it in one of my books that goes over the basics.
anyway never leave valuables in your car when you leave it someplace... I take everything out, radar detector, take the fuse out of my stereo lead ( in case employees want to blow my speakersm, or if something sorted out) and take the face plate off my stereo...

I'm in Jacksonville, but doubt I will hear anything. Sorry to hear about your stuff. The shop is liable though, so I'd say start there. Good luck.

Well I talked to the mechanic today and he said that about 5 or 6 CD players were stolen and one guy had an amp and some subs stolen too. They indeed stole my watch and my CD Player. They didn't take any of my checking information stuff. My CD player didn't have a removable face plate. He can't the it off my bill because he is fixing my transmission under warranty so I won't have a bill to pay, but he did say he'd pay for the CD player i wanted to get. so i'm definitely going to get another CD player that has a removable face. the watch was only $100 so i'm not all that worried about that, plus i should have removed that anyway because my mom warned me a thousand times. Thanks for all the information guys. I did ask him about his insurance he said he didn't have anything.... according to you guys that is illegal. I don't know. Haha at least they didn't gank my Z-Racing [cheap as hell, bought from Sears] wheels...

at least hes helping you out. But dam, having your cd collection stolen sucks if they did, cuz thats like a personal collection and usually takes years to build up..

That blows...but glad to see your at least getting your cd player replaced....and upgraded:)
Loosing a cd collection bites big time  if you remeber most of your cds ( know almost all of the ones I actually listen to,by heart of course) then you could burn most of them back? but still,it sucks+takes alot of time.

nah he didn't get my entire cd collection, he only got about 20 that were in my visor. i took my cd book out because i know he was going to have my car for a while. cd's aren't really what i was worried about though. I guess the robber didn't need any condoms because he took them out and slung them all over the floorboard
