dumb swap, you can make the same horse power on a 2j with ALOT less work and money.... but if you have a shit ton of money to waste, at least it sounds good...

The expected typical fan boy answer.

Life is an adventure, and anything is possible. Money or not.
There wouldn't be 2jz's or any other engines swapped into different chassis if everyone had this half ass perspective on things.

people gennerally swap motors to have more potential then the current motor in the vehicle.... while a twin turbo V8 is cool, all i said is that it was a complete waste of money for a functioning car with an already awesome motor... and how is having logic on how to spend money wisely a fanboy answer? that swap had to cost at least tripple what it would have been to just build the 2jz... if you have bottomless pockets then go ahead, its kinda cool, but for the majority of the population this would be a dumb swap to even consider... i have 2 cars with swapped engines, it seems your the one with the half ass perspective my friend....

So why don't you do the swap..?

The guys answer was logical. Why waste that much money when you could make more power with better aftermarket support on a reliable motor capable of more power than is even usable in an s-chassis? To be different? No thanks. By all means, if you have the money and your goal is to have a car with an out of the norm swap, YOU do it. As for me and most others who want bang for their buck, we'll stick to tried and true. Call us fanboys, but we'll be faster, more powerful and more reliable than you with far less invested.

2j's are swapped into other vehicles because people saw the power it made in a supra. They didn't swap it, THEN find out it's powerful. Same as an LS1. People didn't swap an LS1 into an s-chassis, THEN realize it was a powerhouse, they saw it's potential in a camaro or corvette or whatever. Then there come the people who say hey, that camaro is fast! Let's take the motor out, put it in a lighter chassis with better handling! And then people see how awesome it is and repeat until there becomes aftermarket support and it then becomes common.

Welcome to the world of motor swaps. Try whatever you want, but don't call someone a fanboy just because they have a more logical solution to the same or more power for less money.
