well im getting my S13 hatch repainted soon and im trying to get some ideas of what color red i want for it. im sick of the orangey Aztec Red color and since its fading, i thought i would repaint it a different red. im thinking about the 350z Redline Red, S2000 New Formula Red, and the Absolutely Red from the Lexus SC430 convertible. can anyone else think of some other good reds they've seen on other cars? they can be solid or metallic. i really need some help here coming up with a good looking red. i dont want to do a total color change since i think its pointless, but i want something nice looking. any opinions welcome. thanks guys ;)
I saw "pimp my ride" and they painted this truck Tangelo...yeah it's not red but it owns red. Red is too bleh

I agree....when you repaint your car...the color is a reflection of your personal taste. I wonder who deleted my first post? :hyper: Porsche Red is nice.

:werd: It was very uncalled for. What is the name of the red they use for the Lambo. Diablo? I kinda like that red. Or my stock burgandy red. :bigok:

I have been looking into repainting my car red and i think the shade of red has a lot to do with the kind of car it is going on. for example... Dodge viper red looks good on vipers because of the curviness of the panels and how it draws in all the surrounding reflections, Dodge viper Red looks like crap on Civics, CRXs, tegras, 240sx, and all these cars that have relatively flat panels. A darker shade of red looks better IMO on cars like a 240sx. I would look into.... dont flame me now... Pontiac Sunfire Red, or just the Pontiac red. I think it is the nicest shade of red i have ever seen, and also the new Mazda 3/ RX8 Velocity Red. that is a very nice almost metallic Red. but go with whatever you want. :duh: I plan to paint my S13 one of these colors soon and will keep the Black roof I have now.

Erm....Sunfire red isn't very dark...at all. And I'm looking at a red painted sunfire right now outside my window (sister's). It's hardly different from the Viper red.
The RX-8 red on the other hand is darker.

Paint it Audi red. I don't know the exact name but was on a TT at the dealership. Much better than those other "red" that I've seen.

Haha. I love it. That guy is my hero. Anyways, you should get a two tone look going like the JDM-rice car. Black on top and red on bottom. I love the red on that car. It wouldn't be very original but it would still be hot.

Yeah, "Audi red" (Audi calls it "Brilliant Red") is very bright and vibrant. There's an A4 in that shade around the corner from where I live. Very nice, bright, strong red.
Also, Porsche "Guards Red" is a really nice, bright red.

First off I hate red cars, nothing says "pull my ass over" like a red car. But if you are going to paint your car red, go with BMW Imola Red found on M3s:

Saw an S13 in this color either on here or freshalloy, its the only red that is worth a damn.

not harsh, pure truth, only you can decide how to paint your own car. Useless post on my part? hell no!!!. useless post by the original poster yes. When are people around here going to step into the real world and start taking control of their own lives in making their own decisions. my comments were not negative just truth.
sorry, but I do not ask people what color I should paint my car. I make those decisions on my own. If a person can't learn to make those decisions themselves they are going to run into bigger problems later in life.

since when did asking for opinions become the worst thing ever? I seriously doubt the post-starter knew of all the different reds presented in this thread before he asked.
Imola Red...mmmmmmm

Your car looks good too, good taste! But I was thinking of hybrid_eg's car @ http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=50865
There used to be an Imola M3 that autocrossed in St Louis, the red is so much better in person than in pictures, it has brightness in the sun, and a dark blood red in the dark.

why dont you step into the real world and realize that this is just a car forum and you shouldnt take everything to heart. i simply asked what shade of red people thought looked nice in order to get other possible ideas. of course im making the decision on my own (read: NOT letting others make the decision for me), but the whole point was to get opinions from the 240 community on what would like nice on a car that they are familiar with. in the future, if you have nothing positive to add to the discussion, just hit the back button and keep browsing the forums, your post added absolutley nothing constructive to the original question. i simply asked other people what they thought was a nice shade of red, and i got some great replies from people who were actually nice enough to help, unlike you. so i suggest that in the future, if you have nothing positive to add and simply want to add another post to your postcount, that you say something positive. whats the point of being part of Zilvia if you are simply going to add nothing to the community?
