Can't get my driveshaft out of the tranny!

Just picked up a Z32 TT transmission, part of the old driveshaft is still in the transmission. I can't get it out. Trans is in neutral so it should spin too right? Doesn't do that either. I tried using a prybar but it just bent up that shield that surrounds the driveshaft. Don't know what to do!
