After intalling a new tubular header on my sr20det, I realized my oil catch tank no longer fit. What is the point of this tank? Can I omit it? How so? :wtf:

Can I just use a breather filter on the valve cover? But then what to do with the return line (at least I think that is what it is). Does anyone know what I am talking about?!?

The black oil catch can is a baffle that filters air bubbles from blow by oil, you can just run a hose from t fitting to block.

that's what I thought I could do but I wasn't sure. So just attach one of those little crankcase filters you can get from K&N to the intake side of the T-fitting and a hose running back into the block on the other right? Why do people waste their money on fancy aftermarket catch tanks then?

b/c it looks cool under the hood i guess... and the k&n breather filters get pretty greasy over time

To catch the oil yet still allow venting. Besides, if you want to take the car out to the track, you most likely will not pass tech inspection with just one of those small vent filters as they can drip oil on to the track.
