Well I am just wondering what the prices of 240's are in everyone's area. I live in Saskatchewan Canada and for an good shape, clean '89 the go for 5700-6300 CND which is about 4300 USD. This price is dictated by the amount of cars I feel. Moving over to BC there is about a 3-4grand price drop but there are also so many more 240's there.

I never see 240's for sale really in my area. I saw a 93 Convert. with 98k on that dash for $4400 and was gone in a week. Thats it. I go to junk yards and they ask me what a 240 is. Ive seen some go at auctions.

I paid 3500 for my "perfect-shape" 1991 Fastback with 109k(at the time) on it.
Most in my area are about 2500-3000 for a really shitty S13,last I looked which was before I got my fastback, back last summer.

surprisingly there's an overabundance of 240s in hawaii right now. people are always selling.
stock ones go for ~$1500-$2000(usually auto). little bit modded ones+5spd go for $2500-3000. w/ sr they go for around $7000-8000 but it all depends.
95-96 s14s go for $6000-7000. 97-98 go for $8000-$9,000. though there are exceptions here as well. ive seen someone try and sell their 95 for $11,000...stock.
I'm paying $5,000 for a 95 black 240sx base model w/ 90k in the los angeles area. That's about what they go for if not more. Then you got the dealers jacking up prices to about 6-7k on highmileage s14's because of the demand. And you also got motherfuckers putting a cheap ass kit/paint with crappy wheels thinking thier car is worth about 10k with all the "time and effort" put into thier car haha. You also have people who mod thier cars the right way and sell the for a good price, but that price is too high for most of us anyway considereing that we are cheap ass. I'm not going to lie I'm a cheap ass too. I got my first s14 for 3300 with a messed up door/ fender w/ no frame damage and a clean title. It kinda hurts me to give up 5k because I worked my ass/saved that much for my sr swap, but I'm getting a cleaner and better looking car. The fact that it's black and the paint is in great condition saved me about 3k considering that I wanted to do a complete color change on my other s14. Also there is no sun roof and it's spoiler less :D . I just have to do a 5-lug swap from my totaled s14 to the new one. Hopefully all my insurance crap works out becuase the accident wasn't my fault, but so far it looks arbitrary (he said she said bullshit).

Dam.....I'm Looking at a '93 with 35,000miles on it, original owner who is in his 30's, Fully loaded, leather interior, paint in excellent condition, always garaged, never in an accident. By the way its a coupe. No rust which is great for a Canadian car and he is talking about 10,000$CND. I have done endless homework on this and the car is easily worth that much. I mean the car is just like it was when it rolled out of the factory. He has only replaced the alternator and everything was done at the dealership. It hurts to pay that much for a 10year old car but IMO that something I am willing to do to have a car in immaculate condition, that I know will not turn up multiple problems.
What my plans are if everything works out is to do a s13 silvia front end, which from what I have seen will be the only one in my city WOOT...Then LSD, Coilovers. All depends on what I could get for the KA, if I will SR it this year. I have a buddy that can get the SR and everything to make it run for $1600CND. Also I like the torque but personal preference is the smooth feel of the SR. A little off topic but whatever.

A car is only worth what you can turn around and sell it for. I think your paying too much for that coupe with 35k just based on how you justify the purchase. You already have plans for a front end...so why not get a car thats got a wrecked front end or damaged panels and save yourself the extra money? Thats just an example though, the point I'm trying to make is that its really easy to talk yourself into paying a higher price for a car that you think is great, when you probably couldn't sell it for the same price the next day to someone else.

Point well made, but truth beibg that car could be sold for that same amount the next day. In my city there are all but 20-30 s13's which is a well educated guess. The only ones with front end damage are the 3 rusting away or stripped at the wreakers. :bash: this really sucks...

they are selling about 3400-4600 stock S13s on sprint springs. however this one shop near me sells them like weed. sold a coupe with silvia front for 6900, but they offer to paint the car wutever the customer wants. just last week they sold an s13 to a kid for 9grand, but this includes 180sx blacktop motor chargespeed widebody, and silvia front and paint. IMO that doesnt seem too bad. but eeh imma DIY kinda person

I was only looking for a 97-98, but they were selling in the $9k-11k range for up to 100k miles and most of them were crappy.
I ended up paying $8800 for a 98SE...no options: no abs, sunroof, leather or vlsd...it did come with the optional floormats ($79 on the window sticker :) )
I had to clean the fcuk out of the interior, but it's good now minus a couple clips and covers.

I paid $6k for my 95 SE. They are just to hard to find now, especially S14 SE's that are 5sp's...
The pricing definetly differs with area location. I don't think a car is worth what you can turn around and sell it for. Lots more thing come into play and after all is said and done, if you enjoyed the car then it was worth it IMO...

surprisingly there's an overabundance of 240s in hawaii right now. people are always selling.
I noticed that on Oahu last August. I couldn't believe they were everywhere! We saw more FDs then 2nd gen Eclipses.
Anyways I paid $1500 for mine. It came from Kansas and needed a new tranny, but my front clip fixed that problem. The body is kind of rough, but not for that price. The interior is almost perfect. I am very happy with what I've gotten for the money.

It depends, most are sold for 10,000 dollars (for the ones that are already modified) and less. If the 240 has okay mileage then it'll be sold for about 4,000 and if it has like 50,000 miles then about 7,000. But there are also the beaters that are for 1,000 dollars or less.

I bought my coupe almost three years ago for 3500 with 114k on the clock.
Now it has 144k; Everything that was nice on it is now fucked up, and everything that was fucked up on it is now nice. :D
It's a strange day if I see more than one other 240 on the road, let alone for sale.
But, according to autotrader there are 6 for sale in "the area" (one less than 20 miles away, 5 that are 40-50 miles away): a 95 with 95k miles for 6900, a 96 with 83k for 6500, a 89 hatch with 194k for 4000(link (http://images.autotrader.com/images/2004/4/14/157/230/816724689.157230748.IM1.MAIN.565x421_A.562x421.jpg ) ), a 90 hatch with 177k for ~3000, a 92 hatch with 180k and some sweet body damage for ~2300, and, finally, my favorite, a drift project car (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=161354334&dealer_id=&car_year=1989&make=NISSAN&distance=50&max_price=1000000&model=240SX&advcd_on=n&end_year=2005&min_price=0&certified=n&address=95356&search_type=used&advanced=n&start_year=1984&color=&cardist=47)! A 89 hatch with a blacktop sr and jacked up everything else for 6 grand... marvelous.
And isn't that a motorcycle helmet?

Hey LedZep240. Fellow guy from Saskatchewan here. You from Regina or Saskatoon or someplace else? I am from Regina BTW. I will give you some insight.
I have a '95 Canadian SE (US Base) and I bought it 3 Years ago for $17,000CDN. When I bought it it Had 58,000Km's on it (40k Miles) and was in PERFECT condition. It's a 5-speed and Champagne Gold in colour. I saw it in the paper and they wanted 19,500 for it Which I knew was too high. I checked the AutoTrader for S14's in Alberta and Manitoba as well but nothing to be found. I had been searching for an S14 for about 16 months and figured this one was meant to be. It was the first 5-speed I had seen in the 16 months of searching and all things considered I decided that it was worth the 17,000. Now if the paint was in rough shape or if it had high mileage there is no way I would have dropped 17g's on it. I was comfortable with spending a little extra to get a better car so I still stand behind my decision even if people question why I spent so much on it.
My mother shortly after bought a '93 LE Coupe for 13,000. It is the super nice Pearl White colour with Leather, HUD etc. It was pretty much in perfect condition also. The only thing wrong with it is that an overweight couple had owned it and the driver side bolster on the seat was worn. They also lived in an older part of town and there was 8 years of crap from trees in the molding and all the cracks and crevises. This car had 52,000km's on the odo and she decided to purchase it.
I guess what I am trying to say is that if you think the car is worth the price tag go for it. You are better off being happy with a car in great shape than being 'satisfied' with a cheaper example.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Dave.

Hey SaskS14 Im from Regina BTW. Its cool to finally meet someone from the same city into the same car. Tubular...Now that you mension it I have seen your car driving around, it has exhaust rite?? I drive the cherry red '89 coupe that has been rebuild from what was a bad shape car mechanically. Im looking for a new car to mod and not restore. I have talked to a guy in the south end that has a 9'3 coupe with 70,000km on it and is in great condition, with that is the price tag of 10,000$. I have done homework on the price endlessly and have been told everytime it is worth that. I am in awe of that car of how good shape it is in. My '89 is in great condition with new paint and mechanically sound but it was my first car and Im looking to get into something different.
I have also seen a what I think is ur mothers s13 coupe. I saw it one day in the Walmart parking lot and was also amazed of how good of shape it is in. Exact same car I am looking at except it is black.

Not many appear for sale around here these days.
A '93 popped up in the classifieds for $2000 a couple weeks ago, but it sold before I had the chance to take a look. There's another one, an '89 currently sitting at a dealership in town. No price listed in the ad, but it's got almost 200k miles on it, so I'd assume a $1500 or less asking price. I'd imagine the dealer would probably take less than a grand for it. It's at a Cadillac/Hummer dealership, I'm sure they took it on a trade, and I'm willing to bet they want it off the lot ASAP. I'd buy it but I don't want the SOHC engine, or a car with that many miles on it.

Good to hear man.
I think I know what car is yours. It is a darker red corect? Almost a blood red?
If that is you, I love your car. :) I still want to get an old S13 coupe in rough shape as a project car.
Anyway I have the only Champagne Gold S14 in the province so you don't have to worry about waving at someone else. Next time you see me wave and maybe we can chat for abit.
Later bud.

Around me, there are zero good coupes for sale. Sure, there are a couple sketchy ones or ones with autos... but nothing else. I hate how the guys from up north (LA/OC) come down here and buy up our cars. Oh well... I guess I can just keep working and buy a better one.

Unfortunately I was laid off back in March so even though my car is officially paid off this past month I am still searching for work for the summer. I will also be heading up to Prince Albert in the fall for an 8 month course at SIAST.
I had waited the past three years until I paid the car and other debts off and planned to to dive head first this summer and do some work but it will have to wait until next summer now. :(

OMG! I'll sell my '98 with 100k for 11k. Any takers? CLEAN! SE. no ABS, no vLSD. WITH Sunroof. 5-spd. :D
I can't believe people buy them for that much... maybe I'd pay that much for one with a turbo in it... but not stock. Not stock.

I should have pointed out that as far as I know all Canadian S14's came with ABS and VLSD. :) So that could be a reason why prices u here are inflated a bit.
