Hey fellow Zilvians,
I noticed that S13 Silvia radiator cooling panels are kind of hard to come by and I am seriously thinking about making a production run of them. Cooling panels keep the air moving through the radiator more efficiently by keeping it from hitting the front of the radiator and moving up and over it. They also dress up the bay a little too in the process so the benefit is two-fold. I have a prototype version pictured below so you can see what I'm talking about. It turned out really nice and fits very well. I can probably make these for around $65 + shipping.
I'm trying to get a feel for what you guys are interested in so let me know if you think this is a good product to make or not.
Thanks,
-Jason

I'm in for one too. I've got the headlight covers like you have in the picture, but what about making a cooling panel that one piece all the way across?

I plan on offering a package deal for all three pieces at a bit of a discount for buying both the cooling panel and the headlight finish panels.
As for the GTR grill, I would need to get one and fit it on the car to see if any changes would need to be made but I believe that this one will fit with that grill as well. It just might not come all the way up to it. Also, I don't think it would be necessary to make a top and bottom panel setup as the top panel alone would still keep the air directed at the radiator.
Thanks for the input everybody.

GTR grills seem to be really popular. Here's a question for you GTR guys. Does the grill run flush across the front of the headlight mounts or does it come back some in between them? A picture from the top would also be nice for reference purposes. I'm thinking that the panel will do one of three things.
1) it will fit in the pocket in the back of the top blade of the GTR grill
2) it will fit below the top blade of the grill
3) it will hit the grill

Here's some pics of mine with out the Silvia grill. The panel extends 7/8" farther than the mounts on the headlights and sits 1 3/8" down below the top of the mounts. It's also just under 17" wide in the front. This one is in the black powder coat now. If someone could measure their grill and tell us if they think it would fit that would be great!

Those pics are great. RD 240, Would you measure from the top of the headlight mount to the bottom of the top fin? To the middle pocket of the top fin? Will a 17" wide panel fit in those areas? Also is that an OEM Grill?
Thanks

it would be sweet if you made one piece with the headlights covers and the cooling panel, or made headlight covers as well

I do make headlight covers. They're available on our site: www.uniqueautocreations .com (http://www.uniqueautocreations.com)

I dont have a measuring tape, but a 17" wide panel will fit.
Also it is an OEM GTR Grill.
Trinidrift: That would be sweet.. it'll be fine for people running the Silvia Grill, but for those with the GTR grill, it'll be a bit different.

That's good to know, but what about the other measurements? I'm really needing some help with them as I don't have a GTR grill to put my hands on.
Measurement from the top of the headlight mount to the bottom of the top fin
Measurement from the top of the headlight mount to the pocket of the top fin
If there's interference here I will have to make an additional GTR version.
I appreciate the help.

they are already available to order via your website.
is that a pre-order, or are they in fact ready for purchase / shipping ?
or is that for stock / standard jdm silvia grille only, and this thread is specific to the GTR grille?

OK let me make everything clear so there is no confusion. I did go ahead and list the cooling panel for sale on our site because I submitted an order to our manufacturer to get a run of these panels made. If you want to order one you can go ahead and they should be ready by the end of the week for shipment.
The panel for sale on our site is for the S13 Silvia with the Silvia grill. The GTR grill has not yet been confirmed as to weather or not it will clear this particular panel. But never fear! If it doesn't fit I will make a second version that will so no one is left out.
The main purpose for this thread was for the discussion about the cooling panels and to see if people were interested or not. I plan on making a Sale listing at the end of the week once everything is in place but you can still purchase parts from our site anytime.
Thanks again for your interest everyone!

Thanks!
And, I really want to but I don't have an S14 yet. I do have a wiper motor cover for an s14 Zenki if you don't mind retrofitting a Zenki wiper motor. The kouki connector makes it really difficult to make a cover for it. You can check it out on our site: www.uniqueautocreations.com (http://www.uniqueautocreations.com)
