To Hawaiian drifters---Plan ahead of time and have
local main land shop support you.

D1 Grand Prix at Drift Showoff Miami

D1 Grand Prix USA Announces U.S. Driver Search Series 2004 Round 1: Homestead Miami Raceway
May 29, 2004 Homestead Miami Speedway- There will be the first of five driver search events scheduled this year. The purpose? To uncover the next big names in drifting from North America. This Miami event will be a joint effort with Drift Showoff on the same weekend and registration must be done at www.Driftshowoff.com. Drivers who place in the top 10 at this event may be invited to the qualification round of the D1 Grand Prix Driver Search Championship in December. The top drivers in the US D1 Grand Prix Drivers Search Championship Series will then compete against the top 10 drivers in the Japanese D1 Grand Prix Series in a US vs. Japan tournament, held at the same event in December at Irwindale Speedway.

damn so if you win at the clinic you get an invite to D1 comp automatically?

or is it just if you are really exceptional that you get an invite?

heh, i wish i could compete. maybe in a few years. im going anyways, it should be fun.

Hope some Hawaii guys make it :) I see there is no love for the non-coasters, but glad to see there ar emore searches

Yeah I want to see some crazy hawaiians show their stuff!!! I always see good shiz from the drift session pics... hopefully some of them can make it out here.

Awww no Orido!?!? ANyways, Yah I saw the date too on dec 18, how you gonna compete for drivers search, then I guess you better be ready for full on heavy action?? lol. Better have a durable car I guess.. Or Drivers search in the first session, then they grab a few people, then automatically put them in elimination rounds againts teh other D1 guys.

they should have non pro jap drivers vs non pro us drivers, then it would be sorta fair.

The website doesn't have a Canadian date?? I only saw US venues ... If this is accuate, i might be able to attend. :rawk:
