Well, I guess CT has a dumb law in effect that any exhaust louder than stock is illegal. So the question is anyone go through inspection lately with a Nur Spec successfully? Did it go through with a cat and silencer? Or do I have to get the stock equipment again, sigh. So much for spending a G note on a nice exhaust. Its on an S14. Any one who has I would greatly appreciate any info.

Here's the deal with the Nur Spec. Let me 1st tell you I've been battling an exhaust citation here in California for a few months now. I got my Nur Spec and my stock exhaust tested. Here's the results, cali legal limit is 95.0dB or lower
Blitz Nur Spec R w/Cat + Silencer = 99.0dB @ 4,200RPM on KA
Stock Exhaust w/Cat = 86.4dB @ 4,200RPM on KA
My solution is an Apexi ECV (exhaust control valve). I just picked it up yesterday from Phase2motortrend... but I'm sorry, I got the last one. It's 80mm in diameter and 60mm in length. I'm welding it directly too the catback piping instead of a testpipe. This way if I get busted again I can close the valve most of the way and pass the dB test. If I pass, I have an argument and I can win in court. At this point, I was violating, the cop wrote it as "non-correctable" to make money for the state, and I owe $111.
I hope this helped. If you're on KA... you WILL NOT pass on the Blitz... unless they test you at a different RPM... by why would they? They test cars based on HP.
