Advice for broke student hicas swap?

Hey Everyone so I have a 91 hicas with a s14 engine (dohc hicas pump got put on it) and the hicas pressure hose has been leaking for the last 2 years. I shift at 2,300 rpm so I can drive without losing ps fluid. I live in an apartment and have very limited tools and experience. I would like to be able to go faster than 50mph on the freeway and I live in orange and go to school in La....

I thought I'd get some help about ideas on how to handle this situation with the least amount of money since I need it for school, gas, books etc..

Here's my thinking.

1. swap hicas ps for non-hicas (new one with lifetime warranty from autozone) $130

2. non-hicas ps reservoir (at junkyard or on forums) $10

2.5. Keep existing front rack lines

3. Hicas Eliminator bar - saw generic bar that I can bolt on $70

4. Already bought $40 of tools from harbor freight lol

5. gonna try to resell the hicas (I've seen ppl buy it) Mine is in perfect condition actually no leaks whatsoever... just the rubber hose connecting to the ps pump

Sooo $225 bucks and my time.

I've read many many threads from many forums and obviously a subframe would be ideal and cheaper but I don't have the tools or experience to do this. Plus I'd STILL have to swap the hicas ps for non-hicas $130

so $50-$75 for subframe + $130 to we get $205

So about $20 difference.. correct me if you think i'm wrong but since I'm all alone and lack car experience the hicas delete sounds more plausible and I start school Sept 26th so I gotta get this started pretty soon.

So yeah besides continuing to drive shifting at 2,300rpm any ideas to help me out? I would like to make the best decision I can.

So if nothing else leaks other than the pump feed line, why not spend $30 on a new hose other than spending $225

Dealer has it for $140 or $170. (I think they don't know exactly what part they were looking at) online it's $180

Where you're getting $30 from for HICAS pressure hose ( the one that goes from the hicas unit to the pump)

^^Still cheaper than yanking the HICAS all said & done.

Best advice I have for a broke student who wants to go over 50mph reliably:

Sell 240, buy Civic or Corolla- problem solved till long after graduation.

Hey sileighty_85 ! Where can I get hicas pressure hoses for $30??

Yeah I've been seriously thinking about selling it and I found some Hondas in great shape for $4,000 (high mileage) but I won't get $3,000 in it's current condition. Because of the paint, no stereo (literally just a hole), all different used tires, cracked dash, clutch is like 3 years old but rumbles while starting from stop but the main thing is that I don't have the difference. The thing is my engine is in great shape (88-90psi in dry compression test along all cylinders) like only $80-$90K miles and IF I simply just swap the hicas pressure hose I still run the chance of having any of the other hicas part leaking... and those parts run in the $400's... and then I'd have no choice but to swap to non-hicas. So that's why I'm thinking of doing it now. But of course if I found $30 pressure hoses I'd be set.

You can buy a hose that can handle the PS fluid from Grainger or MSC Direct for just a few dollars. I forgot how the hose bends but im sure you can route it to where the hose is not be kinked too badly.

I wasnt being literal on a BNIB dearship $30 hose I just know it would be cheaper than $225

This is for the HICAS high pressure side hose.

edit:

You can also buy the high pressure hose, a new switch, and the hose that connects to the reservoir all as one unit from the dealership.

Im looking into get the hose remade. I callesd an autozone and the guy referred me to this asian lady that has her own hydraulic parts store and has metric sized fittings and tild me it would be around 70bucks (with 1 year gaurantee) to remake the hose for me! Im thinking this is the best way to go for now.
