Yeah, I'm driving back from a movie when I see a car closing fast in my rear view. It passes me, slows way down, moves into the slow lane in front of me. Turns out to be a mean looking cherry red Kia I hop over to pass him, and he hops behind me, so I figger, "f*ck it, get offa my ass." Now, this wouldn't usually be a problem in my 240sx, but I was in my sisters 2002 WRX at the time. I don't think he knew how fast dem things went

hey misnomer, my co-worker has a WRX....absolutely LOVES it!! when xing railroad tracks he FLOORS IT! the car just sails over em. hes moding it slowly. theres a good forum for em.....post back Monday if u want....i cant remember the site.
greusome sad story.....Monday a 61yr old salesman at nearby dealer took a 19 and 16 yr old kid for a test drive in a WRX. obviously he thought he could handle the car on a dirt road. he was flyin up over a crest of a hill, got the car sideways and slammed into a lawn maintenance truck. decapitated the guy and both kids are in critical condition. what an f**kin idiot!!! the newspaper said he exceeded the CARS capabilities...... bulls**t! he exceeded his own. Adam HAS gotten his squirrelly too....it CAN happen. enjoy it....i wish i could!!

imho the WRX would require some modding on the suspension....... isn't the suspension kind of soft?

The STI version is coming out next year. 277 horses (or something mad like that) and a six-speed tranny, I believe.

Yenpit, I also agree with you--that guy must not have known how to drive it. These are rally cars, for God's sake, there's no such thing as exceeding its capabilities on pavement. .

So, yeah... poor guy and the kids...

Dave, is that what new WRXs look like in Europe?

nismo14, id say yes...a little soft but much stiffer than most in its class. he drove out to Nebraska 2-3 times this year....not a single complaint, and autox'd it 3-4 times this summer...had a blast! all these cars have to be built towards the soft side for picky American drivers, thats why we get such crap and the jdm & euro market get hot stuff! my buddies lookin for full coilovers but is waiting for more input from others on scoobie forums. be done by Spring 02!
dave2u, we never got that gen WRX, only the 2.5RS. i really like the new gen, but LOVE that last gen!

it's gonna be pretty hard to get really outta control in a WRX...my friends has one and we be flying at some prettty fast speeds on the freeway and that mofo can grip like superglue....but i don't really like the WRX...i'd get me a Mitsu Lancer Evo IV..god that cars has the right curves and the power....

My friend won't lemme drive his!! It's fun when it hits 1.5 bar of boost.. f-ing crazy, but as long as u don't do that all the time (stock intercooler, stocker everything pretty much) it'll be fine =)

I agree with you. I drove one, the suspension felt pretty stiff. Nice car... definitely. Can't wait for the STI to come out!
