This is my first post! I found a used 92' 240sx S13 on Craiglist for this price, but there is rust. Everything else is running ok, but the rear of the car looks ugly because of the rust lol. Would it be easy to fix this with some primer and touch up paint? And is this car priced right?
Thanks,
Adam

if you have the means (tools/skills) and the budget to restore it, go for it

Or should I just replace the bumper for like 200? Either this or the rust converter is an option.

First that's not a Silvia, it's a 240sx. And second if you want to deal with the rust which is not easy then go for it.

New trunk.... Sand paint bumper.
But you should check it out in person, make sure rust isnt ells where.

Yea true I'm going to see it on Sunday but for right now I just want to know what would be the best thing to do. The rust converter black paint should work on the bumper and it is the cheapest way for right now. If it doesn't work that well, then I will just replace the bumper. OR another option could be a whole car repaint???

^^ the bumpers will not rust they are not metal... Your rust is going to be on the frame rails, and in the hatch and or under the spoiler if it has one...

So you're saying that this is just chipped paint that needs a touch up?

Also big rust spot is under the battery but if your planing on ever swapping/turboing the car that's not a big issue as you cut that out anyways

Bumper is just fucked up paint. Grab a new hatch and you're good.
Car looks good for the price.

I talked to the owner on facebook, it seems like a solid car.
It's not a pretty car, it won't be pretty without a lot of money dumped into it. Your best bet is to buy a new fender, maybe a new bumper, stop referring to it as a silvia, respect it as a 240sx and don't be concerned with what other people think about it.

Oh ok yeah I guess since I'm new to the whole nissan scene I got confused between Silvias and 240sx's haha... My bad. But the main point is that to start off I would need to get that bumper cleaned up... Or just get a new bumper from eBay for like 200

for the price is seems decent. You could probably find better ones for that price, that are already manual (it looks to be auto, if im not mistaken) My advice, dont buy a 240 yet. Wait till your later years to fix it up. You are young, and dont want to deal with getting broken down. You said you arent familiar with nissans, and my advice may seem rude but I am not intending it to be that way. As a kid, youre going to want a reliable car, and a 240 is a money pit, goodluck man.

^^^ they can be reliable if taken car of... But they are not forgiving when not taken care of

Ok well I'm taking a look at the car today to see how it is... The owner said the ac can't hold freon, so if the ac doesn't work I won't get the car.

If having an ac working makes or breaks the deal, I'd say don't buy a car to mod.

dude relax. He is a kid and probably doesnt have the means of working on the car. At 17, having to worry about a working car would be the least of my worries.
At least help him with constructive criticism. We all share the same interests here
