I think a lot of people here have seen this picture but I thought I would post it up here because of the increasing # of people with "drift" in their names.
"Be careful how far you push your powersliding techniques, it can go wrong!"
I got this pic from golders performance cars (http://www.geocities.com/golders_uk/index.html), a cool site with lots of pics and stuff.

I think drifting should be kept on the track.  It doesn't matter how experienced you are at drifting, there is always a larger chance of something like that happening on the street than on the track.  You may travel that curvy road every single day on your way to work, but if something spilled on that road, you can lose control so easily when pushing your car so hard.  I know this will probably turn into another one of those "Racing:  Is it OK to street race?" topics, but DSC has a very good point at posting this picture.  Especially with the time of the year--with snow, hail, ice, etc that can be on the roads these days.

i yearn to throw my car all over the place but i wouldnt do it on the road cos like Lauren said you dont KNOW what the cars gonna do for sure . I yearn for a disused runway like Tiff Needel on Top Gear (do you have that where you are?)

TIFF KICKS ARSE!!  I've got a bunch of his videos.  I wish we actually had Top Gear aired on TV though...What do you get when you take an ex-Formula One driver and throw in any high performance machine?  One helluva good time! :biggrin:

Well anyways those are things you have to live with if you want to push you're car anywere. Drifting takes years of practice and the right set up.

I was browsing the other night on here and i had an old episode running on UKHORIZONS called TopGear GTi. Anyway i heard reving and looked round at the telly. They were out on the runway , camera shot from back of moving truck &nbsp;. There was Tiff playing the nutcase in an impreza chasing , weaving , sliding behind the truck in shot. I thought &quot;wow&quot;.
Then after a moment a Lancer EVO came in from the right and joined it , weaving , sliding , chasing the truck. (it was about the Japanese offering us gadgets on our cars more than anyone else and these 2 had plenty of toys) i thought &quot;WOOOW&quot;.
Then after a moment they part and an R34 SKYLINE burst through the middle of them to some heavy guitaring , weaving , sliding and my gob (mouth) fell open and chewy (gum) rolled out onto my keyboard and my eyes became glazed. I thought &quot;GULP!&quot;
It went on to show you all its toys and electronic digital screen display thingy and said how it was the mother of all toy feasts.
Now thats what i call television. I taped it too <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Tiff is the bomb!!!! &nbsp; I love the one where he tested the new M3--that man seems to know every limit of every car (I wonder how many &quot;takes&quot; he had to do before he got it perfect tho). &nbsp;He enjoys the cars so much and I think that's the main reason why his videos are so awesome. &nbsp;He's not just doing it for the paycheck--he gets a major kick out of it. &nbsp;He used to race cars in the 70's too.

Is that the brittish guy? Does he say &quot;silicon has turned something flat into a robustious and playful double D&quot; while talking about the skyline? If so that guy's awsome!

that's not tiff, that's one of the other top gear editors. Tiff used to race british Formula 1 back in the day, he's been doing Top Gear on BBC2 for a while, and he's also been racing a factory Lister Storm. If you don't know what a Lister Storm is, check out the link, cause it's a force to be reckoned with.
