Yet another charging issue. The car will start when the battery (brand new) but will die as soon as it is drained. When the battery is disconnected, the car dies. The alternator was tested fine but I used a known good alternator and the same thing occurred, dies when terminal disconnected. The alternator fuse was fine but I replaced it with the donor car's fuse for the time being.

I took a good look over the wires coming to and from the alternator and cleaned all connections but no dice. The positive battery cable went bad a while ago but that has since been replaced.

I read somewhere that the battery bulb dummy light is supposed to turn on in order for charge to happen but I wanted someone to confirm this. Mine does not turn on. The bulb check relay is working fine but also replaced anyways. Only other thing to note is that my fuel pump gauge doesn't work and the fuel pump does not turn over without being hardwired. Might be related? Anyways, help is always appreciated.

Figured it out. It's all about contact. I looked over very closely and cleaned all connections. I've heard of alternator power cables grounding out because of the plastic rubber thing on the positive post from the alternator so I went back and looked it over. I believe it was making contact (or not?) so I added a new rubber o washer and made sure the cable was touching the post. Sure enough, it worked out.
