So apparantly its illegal to go through yellow lights in florida?
I see the cop sitting at the light, and im driving perpendicular to him. the light turns yellow and i procede through. he than pulls me over saying I "ran the light"
I get a wreckless driving ticket for 96 bucks, for not stopping with "adequate time to stop"
how the hell can shit like that hold up in court? what exactly is adequate time? i think i would have had to get on the brakes EXTREMELY hard to stop in time.

in court, talk to the prosecuter, try to get failure to obey signal or the florida equivelant...no points. normally they offer it. experience speaks loudly here
tip from cop: always be like "the light was green when i last saw it" he may laugh at you "sorry sir, it was green and there were other cars at the intersection so i was trying to stay safe and pay attention to, it was green when i last looked just before the intersection". and thats a stretch b.s., i know, but u must beat the ticket on the street if you dont want to be bothered with it....never admit the light was yellow, ever ever ever and if you have to go thru, make sure your coasting, cops can see if your slowing down or accelerating by the body angle, and they are not that dum, although dum indeed

i was driving with a friend once and he has a festiva. the light turned yellow and he coasted through, getting a $195 ticket in the prcocess. A week later we see that same bitch cop running a RED with no sirens on and we never lost sight of her, and followed her to the coffee shop. I was fuming mad, my friend even more, and when we confronted her with the ticket she turned and walked away.

You don't confront her....What you do is report her !!!! *shakes head* I don't know about canadain systems...but in my county there is a complaint department for people seeing cops doing not-cool things....on OR off-duty.

If you had to speed up to make it through the light I think the judge may side with the cop. If you explain to the judge that you honestly thought there was no safe way you could have stopped in time you may have a case.

it was one of those things where if i had braked, i would have had to been on them very hard. it was much safer to just go through the yellow. the cop was a douche bag.

whats better? stop for the light and possibly get rear ended , or safely pass thru before it is red....there is a delay before the opposing light turns green, and there is no argument that can explain how passing thru a yellow is a risk to those other drivers, unless they run the light.
i got that ticket, in rain. and it was lowered down to no points in court, but the cop wasnt trying to hear that on the street
