The 00+ motors have 2 cats I believe one in the stock head and one down below you will have to relocate your O2 sensor behind the cat if you don't want to get CEL.
I went to an exhaust shop and got a O2 bung welded behind the cat.

You will need to remove the four bolts that hold the heat shield on the cat too. It would be wise to soak all the bolts first and let it sit for 30 min or so. Of course you want to wait like an hour too while the motor cools. It'll still be warm after an hour but I couldn't wait.

Then the two nuts at the hanger at the cat.

After removing that soak the head nuts. I gave it about 30 minutes.

While waiting for that I rewired the O2. You will need to splice the wires to extend the O2 sensor wiring. I went a little extreme and made it about a foot too long. Makes sure to connect them correctly to the same colored wires.

Got the head off. Copper gasket on. (You will have to source one. Does not come with copper gaskets.) I was lazy and used a rag to cover the alternator positive wire so I wouldn't make contact with the ratchet. But I recommend you disconnect the battery. And yes my block is a little dirty. Will clean it soon.

Down pipe on and O2 sensor on.

Torque everything down. Plug in both O2 sensors and you're done. Now about after a week I recommend to re-torque everything while it's hot. Some people say sooner. But I'm waiting a week.

Finished.

I don't understand why you got a bung welded in after the cat when the SSAC pipe had a bung right before the cat you could have used.
