I see all these turboed cars with the intake super far away, potentially sucking water.
What is the point of a cold air intake if the compressed air taken by the turbo is going to be cooled anyways?

The cooler the inlet temperature, the cooler the air charge into the throttle body. Regardless, if you're heating it up by compressing it, you still want cleaner/cooler air.

Uhhhhhh is the filter still inside the engine bay???
Is this monsoon season? Are we going to be driving through a river?
The only setup I've seen that had issues with sucking in water was the arospeed style front-mount intake for Hondas that placed the filter in front of the radiator. That fucker produced power but a number of people did suck in water and blow engines.
