I Am thinking about doing a spool in my diff..the mckinney one i think it is.. yeah i know i know about mckinney but what i am asking is if any1 has any first hand experience with the spool and how it felt vs a 1.5 or a 2 way lsd.

I am a :newbie: therefore i must ask these ?'s that make people go:picardfp: which in turn could make me  So lets keep this discussion under control...i just wanna know how it feels compared to others and how it behaves on the street DD'in it..

Thanks

a spool will work the same way as a welded diff. a 1.5 way or 2 way will allow the wheels to operate freely under low speed/power and lock up when torque is applied. as a welded diff, both wheels are forced to operate at the same speed regardless as both axle's are locked together, much in the same way as a spool

You don't have to make a new thread everytime you want to ask a question. There are sections for small questions like this. Please do more research before making threads.

Like stated a spool is no different than a welded diff. Save your money, get your car RUNNING and stop asking about shit you don't need on or in a car with a tired stock KA.

A 2way locks on accel and decel. A 1.5way locks on accel and has partial lock up on decel. A welded diff(or one with a spool) is locked, will shred tires and is not ideal for a DD.

Once again, more research and get your damn car running before you go modifying shit you don't understand.

it's exactly like a welded diff. look up welded diff reviews and replace welded with spool in your head.
