Taking my SR out, and the wiring is almost all the way gone, and I forgot to do a compression test. So I'm going to just jump the starter to do the test. How do I jump an SR20DET starter? This is what my solenoid looks like, just FYI:

Where do I jump the positive to?

wow degrease it first. Then push 12V to those terminals you see. the small spade connector terminal is off the ignition. Just send 12V to the spade and terminal.
Ground is through the starter body. Aka engine block when its bolted up. So if you use a jumper cable for instance, you would clip one end of the jumper cable to the starter's body (far away from those terminals in the picture). And send 12V to the terminals. One is probably for the solenoid and one is probably to spin the starter. Some starters work differently though, but its ok because they all take 12v to the terminals in the picture and generally get ground through the engine block.

take it to advance auto, or auto zone. theyll test it for free. whether it's in the car or out.

He wants to do a comp test, not just test the starter...

It's all good, I got it! Thanks guys, for anyone viewing this thread, negative goes a bolt on the rear of the starter, positive goes on big bolt on starter front, and I ran a small 16ga wire from that tab sticking out to the positive on the battery. Touched it when I wanted it to turn over, and it's that easy!
