It's time for me to pass my Z on to another enthusiast who can appreciate it as much as I have. The slicktops are the rarest Z32 chassis ever made, and in this color only 20-something were produced, making it the rarest Z32 chassis combination Nissan ever produced. This is a 2-owner car, the original owner purchased the car in Tampa, FL in March 1998 and daily drove it until January of last year, when I purchased it. I've also daily driven it since, and performed a lot of maintenance and upgraded it to be a truly remarkable machine. This car turns heads everywhere and people try to make conversation about it regularly. It is a beautiful Z and most people don't realize what it is, having never seen one in such a beautiful color or trim before. I've owned a dozen Z32s, and none have compared to this one in any shape or fashion.
This is an NA 5-speed car with right around 137k miles on the odometer. The car runs very strongly with no known issues and is quite quick and nimble. It is very clean all around, probably the cleanest Z32 I've seen. There is no rust, the original LP2 midnight purple pearl paint is in decent condition for its age and wear. There are a few minor dings around the car, nothing major to note.
The slicktops are rare among the z32s available, but this color combination makes it the rarest Z32 chassis combination ever produced by Nissan. Slicktops handle remarkably well and are notably more rigid than their t-top counterparts (the Z06 of the Nissan world!). Mine weighs in under 3100lbs wet on a scale, offering a very different driving experience compared to most other z32s. It gets up off the line quickly and stops on a dime! This is a true track car.
The shifter shifts crisply and the clutch engages smoothly, there are typical high-gear grinds with fast shifting at higher speeds. The car is amazingly fun to drive and gets around great. A/c blows cold and has since I've owned it. The car came with a lot of maintenance/history records, including the original window sticker which will all be passed along to the new owner.

To those asking to do a swap, that will completely destroy the value of it being an original engine matching automobile. In the Z world it probably is worth close to that asking price if you find a collector.

Why does that not seem to affect the value of Supra's then?

Not everyone has drag racing in mind with a car, some people also enjoy turning every now and then. This car dominates my twin turbo Z at autox events, so anyone who actually enjoys SCCA racing will see more value in how it currently sits vs. a maintenance nightmare like a twin turbo Z.

Rare piece and very clean.... U will see 13-15k
Whoa...
People are saying it is not worth the price but I have seen stock koukis go for 10k+......
A 1996 midnight purple slicktop... are you fuckin' kiddin me? I'm sorry, but that is EASILY an $11,000 car in this condition. It obviously has been taken care of and is in amazing shape. Nice small upgrades as well that most people desire.
I have no idea how much the Regas are worth, but if they are as rare as you say then I don't see them NOT being a $3000 of wheels.
Anyways, beautiful car OP. Truly my favorite chassis. If I was made of money I would take her from you. Good luck with the sale, and I hope you find an actual enthusiast.
Cheers

In 96, all the Obdii cars were "quarantined" for about 2 years until they were deemed allowed for the US market. Since it was the first year for these cars to be Obdii, it took Nissan some time to approve their sales as appropriate for their marketability here. There were literally large parking lots full of z cars waiting to touch our market, and most weren't approved until early 1998.

And just a little more information on how rare this is...
Only 216 Z32's were painted in LP2 from the factory. Amongst those 216, 145 were 2-seaters, 38 were 2+2 models, and 33 were convertibles.

TriniTT,
Beautiful car. I own your car's twin--an 08/95 LP2 slicktop. I bought mine out of Phoenix, AZ last year from its second owner with 82k on it and it now has 84k. Mine also sat on the lot until 1998 and was bought new in Oregon and made its way to Phoenix in 2000 and was sold onto the 2nd owner in 2003. I only wish I had the car's original window sticker and/or a printout from Nissan Svc Comm (Nissan does not have any info. in the Svc Comm db).
Still working through some deferred maintenance and pestering the local Nissan dealer for parts that are quickly disappearing from the catalog. After reading your ad(s) I was motivated to stock up on roof moldings, factory battery cables, etc..
GLWS and I hope you either keep it or find the right owner.

Yes I know the car well, as he was supposed to sell it to me last year. Your vin is JN1RZ24DXTX600223. He told me he wasn't ready to sell it and he would contact me when he was ready. I'm really disappointed he sold it out from under me. Very sad. Please enjoy it as much as I would have.

yep turbo coming soon!!!!
I had others 300zx, a 91 tt, a 90 2+2 n/a 5 speed , a 91 2+2 auto, and a 93 n/a 5 speed slicktop , this one is my favorite ,it handles better it feels better it feels quicker.
for some people HP is not what makes a car.... .
For some one like me that enjoys driving the car anywhere at any time for any reason , not just racing , power means nothing with out practicality and reliability.
