Hi all,
Long story short, my Nissan silvia come with an analog cluster- worked fine.
Anyhow, a while back I decided to do a digital cluster conversion with the hud. So I got the cluster, the hud and the subharness. I then swapped the odometer from the analog cluster to the digital cluster and swapped the motors that turn the odometer as well so that my km's stayed the same.
Now it has come time to sell the car and I reversed everything so I am selling the car with the stock analog cluster- and swapped the odometer back into it. The issue I am having is when I did the odometer swap- I had to remove the speedo needle to access it. When I put it back in, so matter how many times I adjusted it (pushing or pulling it in or out)- it just doesn't work the same. It doesn't drop like it used to before I touched it- essentially it just seems to not move as freely as the rpm guage needle.
I tried checking some white face guage installs to see if I could find any tips- but none so far.
Can someone give me a suggestion as to how to fix this? I want to sell the car with it working properly.
One thing I am thinking is that maybe I could have just unscrewed the 4 screws that hold the motor assembly of the speedometer to the back housing- and I could of then removed the whole thing with the black face and needle without pulling the needle out?
