anyone know why my almost brand new clutch is slipping when i drop the clutch at 4000 and also sometimes when i'm driving????It sux!

who installed?? was the flywheel resurfaced, rear main engine seal replaced, and what brand of clutch...??

Sounds like someone got grease on it, or your rear main is leaking, like yenpit alluded to. I don't know about breaking it in correctly. Never heard anything like that. I just did the clutch in my Nissan last weekend, and aside from the problems of getting the tranny out, I drove it for a day after I finished, then drove it hard to PHX and hard back, and nothing has grenaded. Figure it's fine.
Did you have it installed, or did you do it yourself?

never heard of breaking in a clutch?? not to drive it hard, and keep the revs lower for at least 500 miles? hey did you ever get that cam from pdm? they raised the #### core charge to 250 <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

No, I can't afford the cam til the summer probably. I've never heard of breaking in a clutch. Never had a problem with replacing them and just going. I'm sure it'll cut down the life a bit, but oh well. If I have a clutch last 40,000, I'll be happy. I like to drive it hard and dump clutch a lot. Bad for parts, but if you yank out your own tranny, doesn't matter much. Gives me something to do.
What do you think it does to drive it hard when it first gets put in? I've gone about 300-400 miles now with it. Mostly hard, some easy.
