Hi,
I am the 2nd owner of a 1991 240sx SE hatchback with the automatic transmission and a KA24DE engine. It is black, and is without ABS brakes! The original owner, a buddy since childhood, just bought a GT-R and gave me the 240sx. Car is 100% stock with 101,000 miles and was 100% dealer maintained (Buddy is a doctor and never wrenched the car).
I attempted to clean my MAF sensor and ended up breaking the solder contacts when I removed it from the car. And now I know that the solder is the weak point! Car ran perfectly before.
The current MAF has a part number of:
22680 53F00 A36-000 G6O (not sure if that last digit is a zero or the letter o)
I found a used MAF....but part number is:
22680 D9000 JA36605 GAO (not sure if that last digit is a zero or the letter o)
1) What MAF part number(s) can I use to save my ride?
2) If I use a different MAF number, it may still fit physically, but will it alter air/fuel readings and the power band, etc? I don't want that.
3) Please help me. I searched and for every one person that says I can find an Altima MAF from 1993-1997, there is another saying "no" as the Altima KA24DE engine is tuned differently and using its MAF will screw up my 240sx.
I love this car....I screwed up. What MAF do I use? The 53F00 are few and far between, but there seems to be plenty of D9000 out there.
