I will be happy to hear from people who tried both about the differences.
The spool is most important, The power is less.

Thanks

It seems you know the difference. Also theres a gt2871-sr20 thread to refer to.

Actually I dont really know how much difference between them.
I know about the AR64, But Im interested to know about the 86 compared to 2871 AR64 :)

The disco potato does respond 'marginally' faster, but it's not anything worth giving up 40 hp and holding power to redline for.

I dont mind to giving up on those 40hp if the car will be more enjoyable...
My previous turbo made lot of power at high end but the spool was very poor, This is not cool :)

I also have an option to replace the back AR to 64

gt28rs w/ 64. for quickest spool but you'll run out of air quick. Im running a gt28rs w/ .86 and can hit 19bs around 4k rpm, but being that the compressor wheel is so small it is over spinning the wheel creating heat (ie killing power). I would get a gtx2867 or gt2871 if i had to do it again. The larger compressor can simply push a larger volume of air into the engine.

what turbo are u currently using?

the current turbo is 2876.86
how much boost/power output is your setup?
Im planning to boost about 16-18 psi with external WG and get about 330 whp, with the current setup the boost is 22 psi and 400whp

I'm at 19lbs 340hp/300trq
I would go gtx2867 if you have the funds or gt2871 if not. Both use the .64ar

The t3 .63 flows the same as t2 .86...
