Has anybody replaced a ka24de? If so how long did it take? I have a shell that has a knock in the engine it's also auto. I have an other one that's manual and runs and drives. If I have 1 maybe 2 people to help me do you think I could get it done in 12 hours? I've replaced engines in shop but never just me and one other person.

My dog has pulled and reinstalled an engine in 4 hours by himself. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/Corbic/9961723b.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Corbic/media/9961723b.jpg.html)

Considering you are asking - it does not sound like you have done this before. I would budget a week. People don't necessarily make it easier. They may shave off 15 minutes when you lift the engine out, but unless they actually know what they are doing, they will more likely act as distractions and slow you down.

Plenty of noobs have done their research, read the FAQs, watched the YOUTUBE VIDEOS and done swaps in 2 days.

Research every single perishable good you need on the car - hoses, belts, fluids, spare fasteners ect. This will cut time down. I spend more time running to the store getting crap then I do actually working on the car when I do big projects.

Thanks for the reply and awesome pic hahaha. I've only pulled and replaced domestic v8s and v6s never any Japanese 4cs.
