hey i have a 1993 s13 coupe with an sr20det engine swap, when i start my car i let it warm up before i drive it, and when im driving and start to get into it, the car jumps back and forth , i have a boost controller and turbo timer, it feels like the car cuts out and hesitates, im not sure what it is, but i would like to drive my car hard whenever i want to , if anyone knows what it could be it would help alot, thank you

codes?

is it a lean or rich cut? that right there will tell yea alot, if you dont have a wideband gauge then pull some plugs and take a look. you need to find out if its lean or rich because that will narrow the problem down alot. if its lean then i would look into fuel, if its rich i would look into ign. any

You might want to be a little more specific with the symptoms the car is exhibiting. "Jumps back and forth" is kind of really not clear at all lol.

Anyway, what MAF sensor are you running? Do you have a z32 MAF with an Apex'i AFC or something like that? I've seen sr swapped cars cut out and bog under power due to crappy AFC wiring and/or incorrect AFC settings.

Would also help to know:

What's the boost controller set at?
What is the engine speed when the problem occurs?
How much boost does your gauge show (if any) when the problem occurs?

Additionally, if you don't have an AFC please wait for somebody more knowledgeable to look at this thread because I have no clue lol.

I had a very similar problem and mine turned out to be a bad TPS. You can test it using a multimeter. It's very simple so it's worth the shot.

All the electronics in the bay could cause some sort of issue. MAF, TPS seem to be the biggest hesitation issues. Download an FSM and check all your happy electronics. TPS and MAF wont throw a code unless they are fully malfunctioning and causing a low or high voltage situation in the ECU.

In addition to everything else, have you boost leak tested?
