---Car is an '89 s13 KA24e. Everything under the hood is STOCK.
So one day I was driving home on the freeway going about 60-70mph for about a 15 minute drive. Right when I get off the freeway, as I exit I brake, get ready to turn, and the motor dies. I hardly ever stall but I figured I fouled up anyway. I turn the car back on and drive off as I notice my idle starting to act sluggish. I get 2 minutes down the street and white smoke is coming from under the hood.

I'm overheating. I pull over a bit further and shut it off immediately. I pop the hood and white smoke is coming directly off the head. Not the radiator or anything else, but the head of the motor itself.

NO smoke came through the exhaust the entire time.
Today I checked the oil (fine) and topped off the radiator. I put about 3/4 of a liter. I drove it around this morning to see if it would overheat again.. It didn't. But the sluggish idle and power loss remains. Every time I shift gears and gas, as soon as I hit the pedal, I don't get that initial amount of power. I pulled the car back in the driveway and notice a new sound.

Whenever I gassed a little and let go of the pedal, I would hear a "let off whisp" kind of sound. Like a turbo'd car when you let off the gas. It wasn't loud, but it's definitely new and it sounds bad.
I'm going to take the car to the shop and have'em look at the waterpump and tstat. And maybe the sparkplugs and fuel injectors too.

I've never had cooling problems before..
Any ideas???
Does this sound textbook to anyone??

FIRST thing to do is a compression test. Then we will continue after that.

I'll get into that stuff a bit later.
