Right now me and my brother are trying to replace the clutch and remove the tranny to do so. While we were trying to take off the driveshaft it was kind of hard to unbolt the bolts that arent facing you because either the wrench wont fit or thers not enough room to twist it out. I was wondering if maybe turning on the car to get them to spin torward us would be a good idea? :hsdance:

^^NOOOOOO!

Chock the front wheels, jack up the rear of the car & turn the driveshaft by hand to wherever you need it- easy peasy. Also helps to loosen the motor mounts a tad so you can get to the upper bellhousing bolts a little easier when you go to remove the tranny from the engine.

like the man above me said lift the wheels off the ground and put the car in Neutral, u can easily spin it by hand, also when u go to take the top tranny bolt off u can use the weight of the tranny to ur advantage, disconnect the down pipe so its out of ur way and take off the tranny mount, this will cause the tranny to dip down and depending on it the car is up high enough u can remove the starter and upper bolts with a swivel attachment and a really long extension, and can also be used when re-assembling. helped alot when i did my five speed swap.
