Your car should probably not have Altezza tails but should have a carbon fiber hood, clear corners, and a body kit of some variety and decent quality. If you can't have a wing that fits, don't slap on an Aluminum. At best, get a Fiberglass one or Carbon Fiber. Your paint could be any color as long as it's clean and reflective. Dark colors look great under show lights. No vinyl stripes, get airbrushing or go clean. Don't skimp on your wheels. Spend some money. Get 17"s and make sure they are not heavy. Quality and name matters here. Stick with higher-end brands and stay away from the cheaper ones like Motegi, Enkei, and American Racing. Don't loom your engine, sleave it proper. Don't Short-Ram when you can Cold Air. Choose Cat-Back over Straight Pipe or a plain old performance Muffler. And if you have Nitrous, then the bottle should be used as a "as well as" and not a "only got". And when it comes to brand names, don't cheap out. Sure you can weld or construct a PVC replica of a CAI from AEM-but that's not really the point is it when that company's dyno charts prove a performance gain rather than a "well it sounds good" choice. Buy AEM or INJEN, not Ractive. Get Tein, not APC. Spend the money on the quality the judges will notice and the results will pay off. Judges can spot rice from miles away and the level of scrutiny they will exact on your car will be unprecedented in comparison the examinations of passers-by in Prince George. We live in an island of rock and narrow-minded ideals. We think Ractive and APC is the big company to buy because they have a very big PR department and every shop and their dog can import them. But the truth is, there are better, bigger brands out there garnering more attention and earning more respect for quality. Now a car at one of these big shows can either spend the money, get noticed, and get trophies or fall into the corner of the shows reserved rides with cut springs and canned exhausts.
