hey, so I finally bought my parts washer today. and at the store they had some heavy duty degreaser fluid, they say one gallon treats 200 gallons of cleaner. so 200:1, well im using it at full strength, so no water added. but my question is about throwing in plastic and rubber parts, I know normal fluid doesnt allow this, but the fluid I bought is biodegradable non corrosive. so couldnt I put rubber and plastic in with it. also does this mean it is water based and after cleaning my metal parts, I must dry them to prevent rust. I know back in shop class they used like gas or mineral spirits where it will eat away plastic and such, but doesnt non corrosive mean it wont break stuff down, I mean it is doing a hell of a job cleaning the parts. Oh BTW, the bottle gives little to no information on what it does. thanks if you can help.

test it on a plastic or rubber part u dont need. if its ok then use it on the other parts.

Any reason you're not diluting it? Are you rich, or stupid? Do you touch wires that say "Danger High Voltage"?
Seems to me if something says to dilute it, especially at that concentration, and you're questioning if it will destroy things... I'd assume it would.

well if I dilute it, I know im adding water and id just be stupid to soak my metal parts overnight in a water based fluid, So i am stupid, the fluid itself is waterbased or it wouldnt mix if I added water to it. so now today I opened it up after soaking my sr intake manifold, to find crystalized shit all over the metal and it is tarneshed even worse now. so I guess I will bottle the crap fluid back up and return it. because I want the stuff that I had in shop class. the stuff that smells like shit and burns your hands up. its like mineral spirits or something right?

I think Mr. Moore used keroseen or Gasoline. Use it for 10 years at a time.

well I guess from reading a bit on other forums, they use kerosene. does anybody here have a parts washer, if so what do you use.

We had some biodegradeable solvent in our washers at my school. We DID dilute it to the reccomended strength. I personally think it works better than the mineral spirits/whatever stuff they had before(it would make your skin burn after awhile). Not just cause it wouldn't burn. It would actually clean stuff better. Parts we soaked never left crystal shit. I'll try to check what kind it is tomorrow.

following the instructions from the manufacturer is the obviously most safe and correct way to use the product, whether its tooth paste, car wax, or a dildo. whatever. :loco:

that new hippie friendly stuff doesnt work for crap, diesel fuel works pretty well, im sure kerosene would do the trick also

I know that aluminum doesnt rust but it leaves a white residue, so is my intake made from aluminum, it is leaving the white powder. now my next concern is that I dont have a shop or anything, just my garage. now im kind of worried to be storing ten gallons of fuel in an open container in my garage. is there really a big chance that it will explode. I am not smoking or welding in the garage.
