Hey, name is David. I live in North Carolina, and honestly I haven't made a build thread since probably ohh 2007-2008. I guess since fb took over with all these groups its just kinda phased out forums which is kinda sad since they used to be poppin like CRAZY back in the day. I used to live on zilvia and a few others. But regardless I'll go ahead and give ya some background on the project. Then get on with de pictars.

So basically I picked up a POS I think its 1991 or 1992 hatch shell from some idiot kid not too far from where I live, I swear though this is the last time I buy a shell, at least one that was ever torn apart. Almost every suspension component was missing nuts and bolts, tie rods didn't even have lock nuts on them and dude was wondering why the alignment was off. :cj: But it was pretty decent body wise which was what I was looking for, completely gutted interior minus a cracked dash, a tuner fx pos seat, and a ripped pass seat. Basically this is what it looked like when I picked it up.

So I mean its nothing special, but really not much body work will have to be done when the time comes as far as pulling/filling dents. I wouldn't say super clean shell, but for 300 dollars hella clean.

So neways, the whole reason I got this car and started the build is because I had an sr hatch I was sliding/driving for awhile and I decided to throw it into a couple telephone poles after a torsion rod up front broke. But really didnt do much damage to the sr20, so figured id pull the bottom off and check the bearings for damage and replace em regardless and drop it back in.

Anyways I am gonna skip all those boring rebuild pics from back then. Basically all I did was take it down, put mains rods and thrusts in it, threw it back together with a greddy oilpan, and let it ride. Also while everything was down (for about a year or two) I started saving and ordering parts and planning my build for the next one.

Anyways kinda skipping through the past two years pretty fast so we can get to the new stuff. One major thing I did order at the same time I got the varrstoens was a FULL 180sx Rocket Bunny kit.....it took 9 months to come in. But here are some pics when I got it of kinda test fitting/checking everything out etc. I haven't installed it yet. Waiting on some decent wheels. I REFUSE to run that kit with some cheap ass wheels and 50mm spacers, so for not no kit!

So fast forward a little bit. Sold the varrstoens, converted to 5 lug, got some xxr 526's in 17x10 +20 all around with 10mm spacers up front to clear brakes and coils and threw a piggy lip on for awhile. And did a little painting the hood and rear valance so it somewhat matched.

Ended up running WAYYY too much of a stretch on it too. 215/40/17's....couldn't get low enough to compensate for the wheel gap...my front xmember and oilpan were about 1/2 inch off the ground.

So lets fast forward like another 4-5 months. I'm working on my tune, slowly bumping up my boost, etc etc.....one day im driving and hitting it hard under about 18.5psi and POP! Something blew....wasn't sure what but pretty sure it was the engine. Get it home and comp test it. 90psi, 40psi, 92psi, 91psi......CRAP for one low comp across the board, but for another #2 was fuggged.

That takes us to now.....I pulled the car to the in-laws house since they have a massive garage that they don't use at all. Tear into the the motor, and this is what I find....I'll post a few pics of the tear down with the surprise last....

And tonight I just had to test fit the head and valve cover on the block....cleaned it up a bit. Gonna be perdy with a silver or gold engine bay, slight tuck, tubs, etc...mhmm!

Still need to get the block hot tanked and honed but after that it should be SUPER clean!

Well since I originally created this thread, I wasn't happy with the bore in the block I got, so I took it over to Salter Racing Engines in Clemmons, NC and had them re-hone and hot tank the block. Pretty happy with the results, and from then been starting to put it all together.

Was in a rush so I didn't get the full hot tank, but all good got it cleaned off later that night. All in all 70 bucks for hone and hot tank in less than 12 hours had it back. Can't really argue with that and it looks great!

Went to go put my greddy intake manifold on and realized that s13 and s14 manifolds are COMPLETELY different. And unfortunately I don't have one for s14, nor do I have any decent sized side feeds even if I did. So I got a friend that is selling me a Jun Intake manifold...should be here next week some time if I can come up with the loot. But until then calling it a night. Tomorrow gonna get the lifters, rocker arms, RAS's, Cams, Cam Gears, And Hopefully Chain On.....we'll see how it goes....but for the night throw the valve cover on it and I'm done!

A couple new tools came in yesterday.....building a head for another guy with solid lifters, rocker arms, tomei 280/280 cams, supertech guides, new seals, supertech springs and retains....should be a nice upgrade for him. But some helpful tools for the process!

Few random pics from throwing the head together tonight. And I know a bunch are probably going to say because they already have on fb when I posted these. Oh you're going to have all kinds of problems because you didn't put the front cover on before the head. Here to tell you I've taken apart 11 of these motors, BOTTOM END ONLY, never even touched the head and put the front cover on without messing with it. It is possible to not mess up your head gasket and get it on without anything leaking if you take your time and watch what you're doing. But regardless here's the pics. Didn't get a chance to degree the cams yet, I broke my dial indicator when I was setting it up so had to order another one... :/

Pretty much it for now....I made this quick video too, had a lot of guys ending up with air in the lifters and now idea how to bleed them. But this should help em out, and if you've never installed cams or looked under the valve cover in your sr then should def give ya a little idea of what ya need to do. Oh and the cam caps, not sure if I said in the video....I am not sure about the FSM but I torque all mine to 8lb/ft and use the sequence given by the s14 sr FSM....should be the same on s13 as well.

Looks good, I have the same kit on my coupe. Just a heads up those wheels are gonna need a lot of spacer to fit the overfenders. I'm running 17x11-25 and 17x12-10 and they're sitting pretty flush

I thought I wrote it in there but I may have not. I am about to pickup some different wheels for it....never run shitty ass xxr's with a bunny kit. But I'm prolly getting some Bersaglio's....hopefully some Bersaglio Meshies if I can find them....the others are 18x10 -14 all around.....but I'll prolly re-step the rear to 10.5 if possible and -30....depends on what kind of turn around they can work out. But regardless -14 all around with maybe a 10mm spacer on the rear I can deal with....I just refuse to run a 30-50mm spacer with a rocket bunny....or cheap ass wheels....

Well I didn't really do a whole lot tonight....but one thing I've been wanting to get done for awhile was swap out the rear s13 subframe for an s14 one. I had one laying around for a long time. So decided while its in the shop for repairs Id go ahead and do it. Already have the DIF I think it is conversion bushings to go in. Also have some circuit sports bushings for the exhaust going in as well. But as always pics!

Lmao not the first time someones said that...but nah ill be 31 in a month. Got my first 240 handed down from my dad when I was 17.....had a 1980 200sx (s11) with rb25/26dett befe that. Dad road raced them when I was young. Then he moved onto a 944 aroind that time and I go his old s13. So been in it for yearrrs. Was ka-t till 4 years ago when I got fed up with how damn finiky they are and finally bought an sr..been happy with it. But my track bitch is about to go v8 soon...when I get time ill post thay thread And well when I get time to start it. Too much work and too many projects!!

Oh and if anyone cares....this is my first car here. 2nd generation silvia ftw! I really wish I would have kept on to it, but back then didn't really know what I had there. Drunk driver hit me and busted the fender/bumper and parts were just ridiculous to source since they weren't too popular back in the day. But my parents bought it off showroom floor, so was single owner, mom wrecked it when I was 12, I got it when I was 15 and restored it to its glory. Then the stock motor started having maf problems and dad suggested we buy a friend's rb25 swap he was selling. So we dropped that in, then eventually went to TT and 26 head. Also it came solid axle so we mocked it up did a little welding and fitting an s14 subframe underneath and went to fully independent suspension. I don't think it had that in these pictures though. If I get a chance i might scan in some more. But they are ALL paper...this was back in like 1994-95 when digital cameras all but didn't exsist lol. But alas here it is...the last you can see where I was scanning em in....but that was a picture when I WAS young...17 right before homecoming with a 70s theme!

I had another one for a little while...but it was a huge rusting nightmare....wiring was all jacked up too where some guy straight wired some huge system in it. I ended up pulling everything out, putting a ka in it with barebone wiring inside and out, cleaned up the interior, maaco paintjob and sold it for a couple grand.

Then....ran into a little problem.....if anyone else is doing this swap (s14 subframe into s13) you'll run into this as well. Unless you use s14 rear lower control arms, you either have to use washers, or I think stance or someone sells a spacer for the conversion too....personally I am just going to use washers since everything is adjustable if I get it a little out I can get it all back where needs to be with ease. But as you can see in the pics, definitely a little too much room there....LOL

Well I gotta run by auto fastners in town...they carry about every nut, bolt, washer, etc you could ever imagine....clips, all kinds of stuff. And get the stuff I need. All the pieces fit pretty well, only the wing really had to be modified. I didn't personally install it but the kit was on in a day and fits flawless

On the lower adjustable arms, the notch is setup to slide from left to right, on the 13 it isn't. What did you do about that? I am thinking of just welding a plate over part of the hole so it can only stay in one spot. I have adjustable arms so it shouldn't make much differece.

Word...thanks man...someone else was telling me to get the kit off baller bolts....replaces all and is about 127....biggest problem is on the lower arms I have a tie bar that runs across so I need a lockout bolt that is about twice as long as normal. I am gonna contact both and see what they can do. Thanks for the info though bud!

Btw how does it work, do ya have it? Just looks like a standard bolt. If its correcting the side to side I have the washers in there for that. Just wondering how it keeps it from moving from side to side...

I just ordered it, but it is very simple. The washers included in the kit butt up against the tab on the subframe and hold the bolt in the correct position, this makes it so all of your adjustment will be through your aftermarket arms.

I will be starting a build thread my self when I start to make real progress on my car (right now i am just getting all my parts ordered).

First off parts came in, was pretty excited. Even the little things make me happy. But I got this circuit sports v2 mini catch can. I wasn't expecting too much due to the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was made of a lot heavier metal that those ebay knock offs, came with hoses (although I heard they break down really quickly, and looks nice and clean. Cant beat it for about 30 bucks!

Old body harness that came out...something was REALLY weird with this thing, if you had the EGI Pump relay in, the car would NEVER shut off....it would just run forever and ever....I thought it was the relay so I swapped it out a few times. Nothing. So one day I just pulled it out, and I forgot to put it back in, but when I cranked it, it cranked up....so when I drove it I went to turn it off, and car turned off....so I just left it out from then on. Never did figure out what it was, but it didn't really effect the car so whatever!!

Anyways that's all for tonight....gonna try and get a little more done tomorrow, maybe finish putting the motor together, pull the rest of the interior harness, and weld in the tubs....but we can see!

Its just forward because it wouldn't sit back..I wasnt gonns be welding it in there or nething lol. I got a few pieces of hot rolled stainless...ima go to town tomorrow and knock something out...and even back farther its no where near fitting...like 2 inches short on the width

Cleaned it out and pulled the bolt, tig welded it up, re-tapped the threads, and put then original bolt back in. I threw just a little jbweld on top of it for good measure and sanded it down flush. But I doubt I needed it.

No....the tensioner was made by mazworx. The head was bought used. It was working fine for four years on another motor...

Buy a new tensioner, take the crappy line off, and get the proper bolt to thread in where the Vtc goes. It will be back to looking good, jus my .02. No disrespect but its hard to believe mazworx would tap the back of the tensioner like that.

a normal pipe plug would work fine for the vtc port
and a hint for RTV
put a smal bead on what ever ur sealing than take your finger and smooth it out and remove excess
it comes out cleaner and you wont have globs of rtvs inside your engine

Well here's a few more pics. I had to put the stock manifold on for the moment. The one I got in had some damage. I guess when it was welded the head warped the flanges. Soo while im waiting on a replacement I have to do what I have to do. When it comes in I'll throw it back on. But as always some pics, also changed up the color on the block, the silver I had had a little too much of a blue tint for my liking.

Here is my HKS 2530R, but it has a .70 compressor housing instead of the standard .45....a little slower spool time but builds a lot more boost efficiently.

Thanks guys, no more updates as of yet. I took some time off this summer to work on it, it wasn't supposed to take near as long as it has lol....but that's always the way it goes. I am back to 80+ hour work weeks unfortunately though, so gonna take a little while longer. I am going to be going over and working on it this week though. Hopefully I'll be able to get the tubs done, once that is done and I can paint the bay the process will go a lot faster. Should only take a day or two to get the motor/trans in and running. But we shall see. Thanks for the support guys!

Ive been working 80-90hrs a week at work lately so I haven't had time to do much myself. But I did get a couple parts in. I got these snazzy harnesses for my sard 850cc's. Basically a PnP harness for them so I don't have to cut up my harness and splice in shit. Gonna make it nice and clean!

Well I got a very surprising call this afternoon, my car was ready two days early! Sweet! I love Automotive Concepts, id highly recommend them to anyone needing any kind of work done. But neways I went and picked it up. I won't have time to do anything really till this weekend. But I can prolly get some of the extra on the welds ground down and get it seam sealed and some primer on it before then. That way I can just paint it and drop the motor in this weekend. So stoked! Its been so long since I had any real progress!! And as always, pics!

My OCD would kick in here and annoy me every time I looked at my car if I did my tubs like that.

None the less, great build! I had the same issues with the gunked up threads when putting a mystery block on for the time being. I should have cleaned out the threads but I was in a rush to put the block back on and get my car running again.

Well tubs are in no way done, I still gotta grind down the welds and clean it all up, seam seal it, paint the bay, etc. It'll be nice and tidy when its all done. The welds would have been quite a bit better but I told em to go ahead and rush it so I could get it back. Took some time off work to put it back together so needed it back.

Oh, no, sorry...the welds look fine. I meant the overhung flaps on the flat section.

Also, for seam seal. Look for something water resistant, I actually used a window caulking that stays a slight bit soft.
It helps not break when/if anything flexes and it keeps out water.

Oh I didn't know which one you were talking about. Im on my phone if you tagged a pic or what not. The way it was put in there it had to be flapped over to work correctly although there is one I am going to have to cut back and re-weld. Not sure which one ur talking about. But yeah I use 3M Automix Heavy Bodied two part seam sealer. Ive had my track car cut completely apart and put back together. Best shit ive ever sealed with, all types of oil and water proof, and the the smallest amount of shrinkage ive ever seen from a seam sealer. Also self leveling so you don't have to worry about cleaning up your edges.

Got the car back over to the shop yesterday night, worked till 4:30am cleaning all the nasty grease built up over the years and stripping the paint down for some silver that's going on. Also got a couple new parts today. Didn't get as much done as I would have liked, but the cleaning took wayyy longer than expected!

One of the best things to use for seams. 3m Self Leveling Heavy Bodied Seam Sealer (part #8307), this stuff is awesome for tubs. It barely shrinks at all when it dries, it keeps a strong bond, you can goop it on like a 2 year old and it levels out perfectly and looks great. Only drawback is its about 45 bucks for a tube like this. But imo well worth it to keep everything looking good!

Well was about 4:30 in the morning and I smashed my finger real damn good with a deadblow hammer so threw a small amount of primer on the tubs so they wouldn't rust up and headed on home! Going back over in a few hours to finish up what I started....I noticed a few waves in the tubs too from welding heat. I am going to be scooping a little bit of filler and going over them before paint as well. Like it to look nice and tidy!

So I got quite a lot accomplished this week. For the most part I have the engine bay completely done, something that has held me back since this summer. With working 80+ hours a week I just haven't had time to build the tubs and get it all taken care of. I did some filling, sanding, priming, base coat, clear coat with flake, and some more clear coat. I have to sand it and buff it out...but for most part Im done with that part. I am hoping to get the motor in this weekend on the mounts if all goes according to plan. I did hit one other snare, when I pulled my front end apart one of my coilovers fell apart. I called d2 and they offered to fix it free of charge, and luckily they're only 40 miles down the road so I'm gonna try and get by there beginning of the week and get that taken care of if they aren't closed. But we shall see. Otherwise I'll have to wait till after christmas. But neways got some pics of progress. Ill have some more as it comes this weekend too!

First stage down...and yes I cleaned up the runs in the seam sealer you see there. Its not perfect but I wasn't aiming for perfect anyways. Gonna end up tearing down again next winter. Think I am gonna design a little bit different tub and clean it all up again.

I am going to be trying to get the tranny attatched tomorrow and get it in on the mounts, but that's shooting for the moon, I still haven't put anything on the front end back together yet so that may take some time, and I really want to get the rlca bushings put in before I take it out for a shakedown. Always a good idea to run high pressure fuel line when you upgrade to walbro/adjustable fpr....eventually gonna switch to braided lines with a/n fittings but I haven't figured out what I'm gonna do with fuel rail setup yet.

Got a few things done tonight. I spent most of my night putting an engine lift together my folks bought me for christmas. I guess dad got tired of me taking his all the time LMAO I prolly pulled about 30-40 motors with it compared to his 2-3.....neways got the clutch installed, swapped the t/o bearing, put the xmember back under the car, swapped the hubs over to the new knuckles....although did have a small issue with the bearing on one hub. Waiting on a reply from manufacturer on that one. Might have to send it back for replacement. Otherwise all went well. Should be getting ready to drop in tomorrow. Got a friend coming to help too!

All together....highly recommend this hoist. Big Red....they sell em at northern tool....we've had one for about 11 years now without any issue. Its fold up as you can see, and it works great. Kinda sad the new one isn't made with as nice as parts as the old one and not as much of it is welded. But it does move around a lot easier than the old one did and I think they did it for that reason. But if you're looking for one, id still very highly recommend it!

When I pulled the hub off the old knuckle this happened....not sure if this is gonna cause me an issue. I packed the bearing back with grease, stuck it back toghether and bolted it up....sent a letter to manufacturer too, we'll see.

Well not a lot accomplished....having some issues figuring out exactly how to run the coolant lines since I swapped to the s14 head. Going to be interesting since Ive deleted the need for iacv coolant lines, tb lines, etc.....now all I need is two to the heater core....but I have 4 ports....sooooo not really sure what I'm gonna do there but I want to eliminate as much clutter as possible. I may make a post about it and see what others have to say. But regardless I did do a few things. Pics as always!

So a few updates on the car. I had ordered these stupid flca's from egay awhile back....got the steel ones instead of the aluminum and I completely hated them. So I sent them to a friend of mine, and he took them down to metal, cut out most of the material and put in 440 stainless steel and repainted them a basic color and shot em back. Much happier with em now. I also swapped out the balljoint in them to a bit stronger pillowball. Also got some grade 10 stainless bolts to replace the weak crap they had. So much better now!

Well I ordered an 01 quest alternator and the Codyace bracket for it, unfortunately the guy sent me a 93 alternator which didn't work out....but he ended up sending me the right thing, even though I had already drilled out the lower hole!! Lol

Anyways this is the original one he sent me.

Well slowly making progress.....when I was trying to put the trans on the motor, the trans fell out my hands and slammed the ground and cracked. Luckily my buddy had a spare bellhousing so he gave me the front section. I almost had it off tonight, but I broke my damn snap ring pliers. I am going to get some more today and get the new housing swapped on! Hopefully I can make some good progress and get that damn thing on the mounts soon! I am so tired of it sitting on the floor!!! Well that's all folks....I am about to start another job next week. So things may start to move a little slower....but regardless, I figure another month or so and it'll at least be on the road....then it can go to the other shop to get the kit on! Then wheels/paint if I can sell my sc400's and it'll be done, minus the cage that still needs to go in...but I'm planning on that and some hot seats next year :)

So few things happened since then. Motor still isn't in the car but mainly because there's been a few things Ive wanted to do since then. I have been working about 120 hours a week now since I started a new job and I'm still working my old one. But Im about to drop from my original 80 a week to 40 now with the new one so awesome for that. I should have a lot more time for progress on the car!! I would sit here and explain everything but I'll just explain with the pictures where Im at. As soon as I get the suspension worked out up front so I can bolt on the wheels, I can get the stands lowered down some and actually have room with my hoist to get the motor in the car. Just gotta take a 40 min drive out to the d2 facility and have them fix my coilover. But here goes the picture dump!

All the lines laid out kinda how they are gonna run...the little mounting brackets or whatever you call them for it were setup to run a small screw or something through. I decided to just leave it like that for the night and go to lowes and get some bigger ones with some nice hardware and do it right!

For some reason I guess the manufacturer made the housing on my quest alternator bigger than OEM. So a little grinding was in order.....should be all good now!

The new 5/8 rubber lined brackets I got from Lowes....and went to home depot and found some pretty awesome chrome bolts to lock em down. Think it came out great!

How long is that Codyace Turnbuckle body? Not counting the eyes or any other hardware. By the way the eyelets are called Heim Joints.

Yeah I couldn't think of it at 5am when I had gotten back from the shop I was out of it....but I don't have it in front of me....id say though right around 3-3.25 inches long without the heim joints....actually if you look up rb20det quest alternator he used to list the part numbers for the turnbuckle and heim joints up on there. The bracket is the same as the one he uses for the sr20.

Its a Holset HX35 with a BEP Ver 2.0 .70 Exhaust Housing with 3in Vband Outlet.....gonna be an awesome setup with this at about 25-30.....gonna play with some numbers....gonna keep a 15-20psi map for daily and have it switchable on the nismotronic to a "raceday" map with higher boost. Should be pretty sweet! This is a hell of a turbo!

So few updates, got the turbo in, picked up a manifold locally. Did some test fitting today, got my oil filter relocation kit. Some other random stuff. Pics will speak for themselves. Works been KILLER lately. But I'm hoping I should have my downpipe and throttle body in a week or two. Then that should be the final things I need to CRANK!! Been a long time coming! Then after I break it in, fit the kit, paint, wheels, maybe a cage and seats....but if not that right now it'll come later...then I should be pretty much done after a dyno day!

Purple vc looks very good. the mani you picked up, is it made with mig or have last owner mig'd all the welds double to try to prevent cracking? I see the head flange is tig welded to the runners.

Thanks man, and yeah the manifold has been rewelded. I guess it cracked because the guy didn't have any kind of support on the front section of the exhaust and it vibrated too much and cracked on the guy. Ive made a decision about the manifold though. The welds are quite shitty. So I am going to take it over to the welder me and my dad have been using for over 40 years now. He is going to grind down each of the welds and re-tig them and completely clean the manifold and then coat it to keep the heat in. I mean really its just aesthetically unpleasing. But you know what im doing as much as I can to make this look nice. I might as well go the extra mile. And he said he could do it in a few days and he's only charging me 80 bucks. So not too shabby.

BUT on another note.....the motor has to come back out the car. I didn't realize the newer style wiseco's have offset wristpin's like the oem ones. I am not 100% that I have them in wrong. But I can't tell from the pictures. I am going to do a little research, maybe pop the head off. But ultimately its more than likely going to have to come back out. I didn't have instructions with the pistons, so blahh.....either way gonna pull it back out and tear it down if that's the case.....id rather pull it back out than have it fuck up! But is what it is. I am just ready to get this thing CRANKED! Ive got another motor I'm building for a customer this weekend so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully i can knock it all out!

Ok been a little while since I posted anything but I definitely have some updates to share. I finally got the wheels I need to run the rocket bunny kit and Im in love. Its gonna come out great imo! And I got the motor pulled out the car and tore back down. I put some new rings in it last night and flipped the pistons around to the correct orientation for the offset wristpins. Hopefully all should work out now. I also have some s13 kouki tails on the way that should really set it off! I am hoping now that I got these few things and a couple other parts you'll see. I should be making some big strides in the right direction to get it finished up! Pictures as always!

Thanks man! I was lucky as hell to run across em for what I did. I couldn't stop rationalizing it. So I just said fuck it and scooped em!

Also have some kouki tails on the way to set off the rear of the car. I think this thing is gonna look pretty awesome when its done! I still haven't figured out a color yet, so any suggestions would be more than welcome. I don't like bright neon colors, I like clean and subtle. I been thinking about darker silver or charcoal grey....but not 100% yet.....and I have done some more work. I started on it last night and went ahead and got it finished up.

Just have to put a few more accessories and the intake manifold back on and I can drop it back in. I was going to put the intake back on last night but I got some arp studs and i can't seem to find em. Oh well, hopefully I can get it all back together at least to where it was this weekend! Thank ya....and lord its been awhile since I updated this. Not a ton of stuff has happened. Got motor all back together and in on the mounts, setup the suspension enough for now, still needs some tweaks. And got tires mounted up on the rims so I can finally start fitting the kit. I dunno if I'm gonna have a lot to say at the moment. Also a few random parts here and there. I'll let the pics do the talking!

By the way.....two things before a bunch of people start asking or making comments.

NO these tires are not what is going to be used when the car is done, it is for fitment and measuring things ONLY and rolling the car around to move it here and there. Once I get a few more measurements and figure out the exact size I want to run, I'll order a brand new set.

And the wheel size, although I believe I have already posted it is.

18x10.5 +5 (running 10mm spacer, probably going to step them out a little later down the road....I don't think its going to be enough for the flares. Or I'll either move the rears to the front and go really crazy like -30 offset on the rears and just rebuild these) Front

As always thanks for all the support. I know its taking FOREVER, but im still working 100+hrs a week and only day I usually have off is saturday for a half day, and even then Im usually coming off two back to back 15hr shifts. So a lot of times I don't get out till late in the day. But now that things are back on track with the motor in and the wheels/tires all mounted up. Things should be going very smoothly. I also think i have made a decision on how I'm going to mount the flares. I was thinking about the dzus mounting systems...but it seems a bit bulky and as many rivets is on the damn rb kit. It'll take me forever. I want to be able to remove the flares easily though for paint, if one gets cracked and i need to replace, etc. So ive decided to go with Rivnut system.

then I can get some chrome allen head screws to latch it on, as well as some kind of polyurethane washer to go under it. I thought about just doing straight rivets. But if for any reason I need to remove the rivets I'm gonna have to drill out ALL of them. And leaving the flares on when I paint would paint over the rivets. And I want them to show for that more industrial look. Depending on paint color though I may end up going with a black allen headed bolt. That I haven't decided yet. Well its been a hot minute since I updated the build. I honestly have had a ton on my plate lately and just haven't had the time to mess with it much since its 45 min drive from the house. Also been having some issues with my girl's rb and I ran across a sr20 for under 300 bucks with a spun bearing so I snatched it up! Im throwing it together for her now too. But done a few things. Figured at the very least, id throw up some pics of progress. I plan on trying to get most of the motor stuff together this week though and at least crank it up! We shall see though, I still need to work out my clearance with the wheel tub and the intake manifold. I may be getting a greddy intake....but for now, I'll probably just throw on the super small stock t/b. Anyways here are some of the latest pics!

This is a little external wastegate muffler....I hate the sound of open dump, so gonna run this. Its a supertrapp disc muffler on the end of an ebay flexible dump tube....should work nice!

And here is my other project. 97 Suzuki Marauder VZ800....bought it after it had been laid down for cheap. Put about 1k in it since then, but its working AWESOME now! Stage 2 carb jets, needles, new slides, clutch, grips, pegs, fixed bolts broke off in frame, bikemasters filters, new kenda challenger tires, all balls fork seals, all balls stem bearings, all balls front and rear wheel bearings, hard krome street pipes, LED headlight and speedo and turn signal lights, JT 17tooth front sprocket (stock 15tooth), Versah Heavy Duty Clutch Springs, 1 inch bar risers....bike has tons of power and sounds gorgeous! Ive done quite a lot of work on it....i really need to put some valve seals in it, one of them on the front got burned out on the dyno pushing it too hard when it was running a little lean....so now at idle after its been running about an hour it'll smoke some. But should be buttoned up soon. This is how she sits now....still doing a few things though! Did great up in the NC mountains!

Lol thanks.....and after such a LONG time. I finally got a chance to bring the kit over from my other shop. I had been meaning to for a long time, But where I am working now is about an hour and a half away from the old shop. And it seemed like everytime I needed to take something over, i already had a truck full of parts and no room. BUT! Last night I fianlly got the kit over and started fitting things! Here are the pics of course! Also started putting the front end together again. Finally starting to look like a whole car again.

Ohhhh and I also FINALLY got an upgrade I had been dying for on this build. A set of Kouki Tails!

Well that's all I had time for last night.....I am going to go back next week and drill all my holes and if the specialty rivets I got coming in arrive beforehand I'll be attaching the kit! Wish me luck!

Thanks guys....and www.passwordjdm.com has the fender bolts. I originally bought em to try and replace the valve cover hardware but I just ended up buying their valve cover kit instead so figured might be nice for a few other bolts to clean up the bay!

Btw guys, sorry I haven't updated lately. I have been traveling a little bit with the wife...went up to NYC for labor day to see my sister. Also grabbed another couple projects. I had two sc400's that I traded a rhd car for couple years ago. I thought the main one had a bad starter, and for anyone that doesn't know about 1uz starters they are mounted underneath the intake manifold. So I never got to do anything with it. I ended up trading em both for another 240 which I'll post some pics of. Funny enough I guess the battery I was trying to crank it with just wasn't good enough. Dude swapped the ecu which was one of the main issues, and now it starts up just fine, but good for him, he is a friend of mine so I'm happy he is gonna do something with it! Anyways here is the car, and lookout for a new build thread on it soon. Not sure exactly what I want to do with it yet. Was building an sr for my wife's hatch and ended up getting her another car. So that engine is gonna go in the vert, then I'll probably slam it, widebody, paint, wheels and call it a day! But I'm gonna head to the shop this weekend and get a little work in on the bunny car. So should have some more pics for you soon!

The car used to look like this, but it was HORRIBLY put together and was also auto. The previous owner started a 5 speed swap and some upgrades and lost interest. So that's where I came in. Hopefully get it even better than it used to look!
