D-MAX Super Street Coilovers (S13)

Ive searched for this topic and only found one real thread that even mentioned them. As most of you know GT-R Garage is now a D-Max supplier. As Im shopping for new coils for my S13 and PBM's are on fucking galactic backorder, i'm looking at these. Ive read a few reviews in option magazine, and they seem to be poppin over in Japan. My question to you guys is has anyone stateside, or Canada eh? used these coils?. They seem legit. D-Max tends not to make shit products. Not to mention quite a few D1 Street Legal Drivers use them.

The D1 Street legal guys run the "Drift Spec" coilovers. These are a cheaper version of those. I had personally owned the Drift Spec ones a few years ago. They never gave me any issues. The were solid, the ride was smooth and went low (for those who care).

I liked them so much, that I bought a second pair to keep for my next car.

Why not go with Fortune Auto or Stance for entry level coilovers? They're around the price range of DMAX and PBM. Fortune Auto is built and can be rebuilt stateside + they offer custom spring rates and valving.

isnt dmax the equivalent of megan in japan. most of their stuff is pretty cheap.

Yes but they atleast QC their stuff and its built to their specifications, even tho its probably built at the same factory (Section) in Taiwan. Same company that builds coilovers for Silk Roads, Apexi, Tanabe, Buddy Club, just to name a few.

If the welds are strong what's the difference

My two cents.. Buy a Coilover that can be serviced in the us. If something should happen (accident, drift damage etc) replacement parts will be much easier to get

Most coilovers lower brackets are welded on, even Fortune Auto and Cusco. Shit, my damn $3k Topline Aragostas have welded on brackets.

most are, but there are some that aren't. fortune auto uses a solid piece. my footwerks are also a solid piece.

I think it depends on the model or maybe revision of FAs you get. I have also seen some with the welded on brackets for 240s. Honestly it should not matter as long as it is a quality weld.

Oh and Wookie PBM has their coilovers back in stock.
