s14 ka24de ECU question....please?

i have a '98 ka24de (5-speed) and the ecu is dead.

so can i get any year of s14 5-speed ecu and plug it into my car? or do i have to find a '98 ecu?

i know that it cannot be a 95, but 96-98 should work

Any 5-speed S14 ECU will work, but the '95 and '96 will require this modification (http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/WIRING%2097+%20240SX%20TO%2096%20ECU%20WIRE%20MOD. PDF).
