Either mismatch O2 sensor with ECU or wired wrong.

If you have a redtop you need the skinny (87 280zx turbo) oxygen sensor. If you have a blacktop you need the fat oxygen sensor. Maybe the wires for yours got damaged during install otherwise. If you have an aftermarket ecu you may need a different 02 I dunno.

S13 SR20DET Skinny O2: 22690-50F00
S13 SR20DET Fat O2: 22690-50F02

They say the '87 300ZX Turbo oxygen sensor works, but there is a different part number for it: 22690-21P11. So who knows.

Those parts numbers for the skinny o2 are different in the sr20det faq.

S13 sr20det redtop: 22690-19p20 ('87 280zx)

I just ordered this one for my car so I hope its not wrong lol.

So did it work?

I think I need a skinny o2 sensor for my redtop SR, because I have a fat o2 sensor on it right now and my gas mileage is around 23mpg babying it and mostly highway.

RockAuto.com shows this for a 1987 300zx turbo

Then they show this for a 1987 300zx nonturbo

Looks like the nonturbo one has the correct plug on it (oval, not square). Anybody know if that'll work?

the bottom plug is the correct one, but the o2 has to be skinny. Just buy the correct 1 from frsport

FRsport wants $100 + shipping for theirs. If I can get a z31 o2 sensor on RockAuto for $22 and it work exactly the same, then I'd much rather do that.

Hell, the Standard Motor Products SG130 sensor that RockAuto sells for the z31 is on ebay for $18 shipped!

Let me know if it works for you. My Red Top came with the mismatched fat 02 sensor also. and i just bought a used Skinny Titania 02 for $20. Don't forget you need an adapter too

Yeah I'll let you know if I end up buying it and it works. Do SR's have a mode on the ECU that I can switch to to monitor the o2 sensor switching? I know my CA18 did.

Anybody have any insight on whether this 1986 300zx o2 sensor will work for a redtop SR? I'm thinking that as long as it's a skinny o2 (which I assume means it's titania like it should be?), and has the right plug (oval), then it should be what I need. Thoughts?

this is semi off topic but on my ka24 i need the adapter as well..

my head has the typical m18 size hole for a standard sized o2. my downstream o2 is the skinny kind and obviously i need to adapt.

anyone know what adapter is needed and where can it be purchased from.
